Answer:

Gas B has the higher initial temperature

6,199 J

7,008 J

Explanation:

Mathematically;

The thermal energy of a gas is given by:

E = 3/2 n kT

Where n is the number of moles, K is the molar gas constant and T is the temperature

For Gas A;

4700 = 1.5 * 2.3 * 8.31 * T

T = 4700/28.6695

Thus, T = 163.94 K

For gas B

8500 = 1.5 * 2.6 * 8.31 * T

T = 8500/32.409

T = 262.27 K

This means that gas B has a higher temperature than gas A.

At equilibrium, temperature

T = naTa + nbTb / (na + nb )

T = [2.3(163.94) + 2.6(262.27)]/(2.3 + 2.6)

T = [377.062 + 681.902]/4.9 = 216.12 K

216.12 K is the equilibrium temperature

= 216.12 K is the equilibrium temperature.

Thus, final thermal energy of Gas A and B

Gas A = 1.5 * 2.3 * 8.314 * 216.12= 6,199 J

Gas B = 1.5 * 2.6 * 8.314 * 216.12 = 7,008 J

A wire along the z axis carries a current of 6.8 A in the z direction Find the magnitude and direction of the force exerted on a
Alexeev081 [22]

Answer:

Force is 14.93N along positive y axis.

Explanation:

We know that force 'F' on a current carrying conductor placed in a magnetic field of intensity B is given by

\overrightarrow{F}=\overrightarrow{Il}\times \overrightarrow{B}

where L is the length of the conductor

Applying values in the equation we have force F =

\overrightarrow{F}=6.8\times 6.1\widehat{k}\times 0.36\widehat{i}\\\\\overrightarrow{F}=41.48\widehat{k}\times 0.36\widehat{i}\\\\\therefore \overrightarrow{F}=14.93N\widehat{j}

Thus force is 14.93N along positive y axis.

The histogram below shows the number of downloads of a song over time.
Allisa [31]

Given data:

  • It is a graphical display where the data is grouped in to ranges
  • A diagram consists rectangles, whose area is proportional to frequency of a variable and whose width is equal to the class interval.
  • It is an accurate representation of the distribution of numerical data.

<em>From Figure:</em>

        Each box in the graph (small rectangle box) is assumed to be one download. So, in the graph the time between 8 p.m to 9 p.m, the number of downloads are 8.75 approximately (because the last box is incomplete, therefore 8 complete boxes and 9th is more than half).

<em>So, We conclude that the total number of downloads are approximately 9 in the time span of 8 p.m. to 9 p.m.</em>

A fire helicopter carries a 580-kg bucket of water at the end of a 20.0-m long cable. Flying back from a fire at a constant spee
inn [45]

Answer:

F = 41,954 N

Explanation:

given,

mass of bucket = 580 Kg

length of the cable = 20 m

velocity = 40 m/s

angle made = 38.0°

T cos 38° = m g..............(1)

T sin 38^0 = \dfrac{mv^2}{l} + F......(2)

dividing equation (2) by (1)

tan 38^0 = \dfrac{\dfrac{mv^2}{l} + F}{mg}

tan 38^0 = \dfrac{\dfrac{580\times 40^2}{20} + F}{580 \times 9.81}

4445.36 = \dfrac{580\times 40^2}{20} + F

F = -46400 + 4445.36

F = -41,954 N

hence, the force is acting in the opposite direction as assumed.

F = 41,954 N

The only graph that accurately depict the given motion is graph D.

The given parameters;

  • initial position of the man = 0
  • direction of the man's first displacement = backward
  • time of first motion, t₁ = 6 seconds
  • velocity of this first displacement = v₁
  • time without any motion (<em>zero movement</em>) = 6 seconds
  • direction of the second displacement = forward
  • velocity of second displacement = 2v₁

Let the acceleration of the first displacement = a

Acceleration of the second displacement = 2a

From the given graphs we can eliminate every graph without initial decrease or motion towards the negative direction.

The only options with initial motion towards the negative direction are;

  • <em>graph B</em>, and
  • <em>graph D</em>.

The difference between graph B and D;

  • in graph B there is a uniform motion for 6 seconds
  • in graph D there is no motion for 6 seconds (<em>this is obvious as the line fall directly on top of the horizontal axis maintaining a value of zero for 6 seconds</em>).

Thus, the only graph that accurately depict the given motion is graph D.
