My hypothesis is that the female shark reproduced asexually since she was left alone in her own tank with no male sharks around.

My hypothesis is that the female shark reproduced asexually. This is when an organism can reproduce without a partner. Saying that there were no male sharks in the tank, this is most likely what happened.
