Answer:

Fist column, apply the density of water.

Second column is material density, so it's mass of sample / volume of sample

Explanation:

Water density is 1 g/mL

Mass / Volume

If you have 0.25 g, 0.45g and 0.46 g of water, then you have the same values as volume,  0.25mL, 0.45mL and 0.46mL.

Again, density is the relation mass / volume so:

2.20 g / 0.25mL

3.73 g / 0.46 mL

3.52 g / 0.45mL

A sample of gas has an initial volume of 3.00 L and an initial pressure of 2.14 atm. If the volume expands to 8.15 L, what is th
Alla [95]

Answer:

The final pressure is 0.788 atm (option b).

Explanation:

Boyle's law says that the volume occupied by a given gaseous mass at constant temperature is inversely proportional to pressure. That is: if the pressure increases, the volume decreases, while if the pressure decreases, the volume increases. This is expressed mathematically as the product of pressure times volume equal to a constant value:

P*V=k

Assuming a certain volume of gas V1 that is at a pressure P1 at the beginning of the experiment, by varying the volume of gas to a new value V2, then the pressure will change to P2, and it will be fulfilled:

P1*V1=P2*V2

In this case:

  • P1= 2.14 atm
  • V1= 3 L
  • P2= ?
  • V2= 8.15 L

Replacing:

2.14 atm*3 L= P2* 8.15 L

Solving:

\frac{2.14 atm*3 L}{8.15 L} =P2

0.788 atm= P2

<u><em>The final pressure is 0.788 atm (option b).</em></u>

How many H atoms are in 6.43g x 10^24 molecules of water
kow [346]

Answer:

12.86\times 10^{24} atoms of hydrogen

Explanation:

The molecular formula for a water molecule is H_2O.

From the above formula, we can conclude that 1 molecule of water contains 2 atoms of hydrogen and 1 atom of oxygen.

There are 6.43\times 10^{24} molecules of water.

1 molecule of water = 2 atoms of hydrogen.

∴ 6.43\times 10^{24} molecules of water = 2\times 6.43\times 10^{24}=12.86\times 10^{24} atoms of hydrogen.

Therefore, there are 12.86\times 10^{24} atoms of hydrogen in 6.43\times 10^{24} molecules of water.
