The greatest possible acceleration and deceleration that the train may have is a and its maximum speed is v. Find the minimum ti

Answer:

the minimum time between the two stations    t = s/v + v/a

Explanation:

this is a problem of kinematics, we will divide it in part to solve it more easily, one part is when it is accelerated and another when it is at constant speed

Let's start when it has acceleration, tell us what part of the rest

        Vf = Vo + at

        Vf = a t

S

ince the maximum speed is "v", let's calculate the time it takes to reach this speed

        t = v / a

Let's call this time t1

Let's look for the time it takes to slow down when it reaches the other station

       0 = v + (-a) t

       .t = v / a

Let's call this time t2

Now we have all the times of the accelerated movement we can calculate how far they travel in these times.

Starting        X = Vo t + ½ a t² = 0 + ½ a t²

                    X1 = ½ a (v / a)²

                    X1 = v² / 2 a

Braking        x = Vot + ½ a t² =

                   X2 = v (v / a) - ½ a (v / a)²

                   X2 = v² / a - ½ v² / a

                   X2 = v² / 2 a

The same distance

Let's calculate the distance you travel at constant speed

                          X3 = Xt -x1-x2

                          X3 = s -v² / 2 a -v² / 2 a

                          X3 = s -v² / a

We can calculate the time it takes to travel this distance

                          V = x / t

                           t = x / v

                           t3 = (s- v² / a) / v

                           t3 = s/v - v/a

Total travel time is

                           t all = t1 + t2 + t3

                           t all= v / a + v / a + (s / v -v / a)

                           t all= s/v + v/a

This is the minimum time between the two stations

A magnesium surface has a work function of 2.65 eV. Electromagnetic waves with a wavelength of 280 nm strike the surface and eje
Neko [114]

Answer:

Explanation:

Energy of radiation in eV = 1237.5/280 = 4.42 eV.

Work function = 2.65 eV.

Maximum kinetic energy = 4.42 - 2.65 = 1.77 eV.

What is 4 differences between saturated unsaturated and supersaturated solutions
Dennis_Churaev [7]

Answer:

Unsaturated Solution: Less amount of salt in water, clear solution, no precipitation. Saturated Solution: The maximum amount of salt is dissolved in water, Colour of the solution slightly changes, but no precipitation. Supersaturated Solution: More salt is dissolved in water, Cloudy solution, precipitation is visible.

A 2kg object travels to the right at 5.5 m/s after colliding with a 3kg object, initially at rest, what are the speeds of each o
Snowcat [4.5K]

Answer:

Velocity of Object with 2 kg= 3.390 m/s

Velocity of Object with 3 kg= 3.404 m/s

Explanation:

From the picture, it can be seen that object B is initially at rest while object A is travelling at a speed of 5m/s. After the collision, Object A moves at an angle of 65 degrees while object B moves at an angle of 37 degrees.

We also know that momentum of a closed system is conserved.

Initial momentum along the x-axis = 2*5.5 = 11

Initial momentum along y-axis = 0

Final momentum along x-axis= a*Cos(65)*2 +b*Cos(37) *3= 11 (a is the velocity of object A of 2 kg after collision where as b is the velocity of object B of 3 kg after collision. velocity is multiplied by cosines of the angle from x axis to give the horizontal component of the velocities).

Final momentum along y-axis = a*Sin(65)*2 - b*Sin(37)*3 =0 (We can see that vertical components of velocity are opposite in direction to each other)

Solve both the equations simultaneously for a and b.

Okay. I'm willing to do that. But first you'll have to tell me something about the sample in question 3.

A 9-inch tall sunflower is planted in a garden and the height of the sunflower increases exponentially. 5 days after being plant
stira [4]

Answer:

a)  h / h₀ = 1,682

, b) h / h₀ = 1.11

, c)    h / h₀ = 2.07

Explanation:

For this exercise let's look for the growth equation, as they indicate that it is exponential

        h = h₀ e^{\alpha t}

The initial height is 9 ”, so the constant

         h₀ = 9”

Let's use the given values

       h = 15.1655”

       t = 5 days

       h / h₀ = e^{\alpha t}

      α = 1 / t ln h / h₀

       α = 1/5 ln (15.1655 / 9)

      α = 0.104

       h = 9 e^{0.104 t}

a) the growth factor is the relationship between the initial value and the current value

        h / h₀ = e^{0.104  5}

        h / h₀ = 1,682

b) for t = 1 day

       h / h₀ = e^{0.104 1}

       h / h₀ = 1.11

c) for t = 7 days

       h / h₀ = e^{0.104 7}

       h / h₀ = 2.07
