A golfer hits a shot to a green that is elevated 3.20 m above the point where the ball is struck. The ball leaves the club at a

speed of 18.1 m/s at an angle of 49.0° above the horizontal. It rises to its maximum height and then falls down to the green. Ignoring air resistance, find the speed of the ball just before it lands.

Answer:

16.17 m/s

Explanation:

h = 3.2 m

u = 18.1 m/s

Angle of projection, θ = 49°

Let H be the maximum height reached by the ball.

The formula for the maximum height is given by

H=\frac{u^{2}Sin^{2}\theta }{2g}

H=\frac{18.1^{2}\times Sin^{2}49 }{2\times 9.8}=9.52 m

The vertical distance fall down by the ball, h'  H - h = 9.52 - 3.2 = 6.32 m

Let v be the velocity of ball with which it strikes the ground.

Use third equation of motion for vertical direction

v_{y}^{2}=u_{y}^{2}+2gh'

here, uy = 0

So,

v_{y}^{2}=2\times 9.8 \times 6.32

vy = 11.13 m/s

vx = u Cos 49 = 18.1 x 0.656 = 11.87 m/s

The resultant velocity is given by

v=\sqrt{v_{x}^{2}+v_{y}^{2}}

v=\sqrt{11.87^{2}+11.13^{2}}

v = 16.27 m/s

A point charge Q is located a short distance from a point charge 3Q, and no other charges are present. If the electrical force o
weeeeeb [17]

Answer:

d) F

Explanation:

According to columb's law:

"The magnitude of electrostatic force between two charges is directly proportional to the product of magnitude of two charges and inversly proportional to separation between them."

If q₁ and q₂ are magnitude of two charges, d is distance between them and k is dielectric constant, then force F is given by

                                              F=\frac{kq_{1}q_{2}}{d^2}

According to this force exerted on point charge Q is same as that of 3Q, so force point 3Q charge experience is also F

A man dropped a dime in a wishing well , he heard it 5 sec later ..Find distance traveled if moving at 10 m/s 2
Alenkasestr [34]

Answer:

The distance traveled is 109.58 m

Explanation:

The Speed of sound in air = 344 m/s

Let the time in which the dime dropped by the man reach an impact in the well = t₁

Let the time in which the sound travel from the well to the man = t₂

Then

1/2× 10 × t₁² = 344 × t₂ which gives;

5 × t₁² = 344 × t₂.........................(1)

Also the total time before the man heard the dime = t₁ + t₂ = 5

Therefore;

 t₂ = 5 - t₁

Substituting the value of t₂ in equation (1), we have;

5 × t₁² = 344 × (5 - t₁)

5·t₁² + 344·t₁ - 1720 = 0

Using the quadratic formula, we have;

x = \dfrac{-b\pm \sqrt{b^{2}-4\cdot a\cdot c}}{2\cdot a}

Which gives;

t_1 = \dfrac{-344\pm \sqrt{344^{2}-4\times 5\times (-1720)}}{2\times 5}

t₁ = 4.68 s or -73.48 s

Therefore, with the positive value for t₁ = 4.68 s, we have

The distance = 1/2× 10 × 4.68² = 109.58 m

The distance traveled = 109.58 m.

suppose 384g of steam originally at 100C is quickly cooled to produce liquid water at 31C. How much heat must be removed from th
dlinn [17]

Answer:

Q=977216.256\ J=977.216\ kJ

Explanation:

Given:

  • mass of  steam, m=384\ g
  • temperature of steam, T_{is}=100^{\circ}C
  • temperature of resultant water, T_{fw}=31^{\circ}C

We have,

  • latent heat of vapourization of water, L=2256\ J.g^{-1}
  • specific heat capacity of water, c=4.186\ J.g^{-1}

<em>When we cool the steam of 100°C then firstly it loses its latent heat to convert into water of 100°C and the further cools the water.</em>

<u>Now the heat removed from steam to achieve the final state of water:</u>

\rm Q=latent\ heat\ of\ vapourization+sensible\ heat\ of\ water

Q=m(L+c.\Delta T)

Q=384(2256+4.186\times (100-31))

Q=977216.256\ J=977.216\ kJ
