Two long, parallel, current-carrying wires lie in an xy-plane. The first wire lies on the line y = 0.320 m and carries a current

of 30.0 A in the +x direction. The second wire lies along the x-axis. The wires exert attractive forces on each other, and the force per unit length on each wire is 290 µN/m. What is the y-value (in m) of the line in the xy-plane where the total magnetic field is zero?

Answer:

y = 0.108m

Explanation:

The magnitude of the magnetic force is given by:

B=\frac{\mu_oI}{2\pi r}    ( 1 )

and the force per unit length is:

\frac{F}{\Delta L}=\frac{\mu_oI_1I_2}{2\pi d}   ( 2 )

you first calculate I2 from (2):

I_2=(\frac{F}{\Delta L})\frac{2\pi d}{\mu_o I_1}=(290*10^{-6}N/m)\frac{2\pi (0.320m)}{(4\pi*10^{-7}m)(30.0A)}=15.46A

With this values of I2 you can the position in which the magnitude of the magnetic field is zero, by using (1) for both wires:

\frac{\mu_o}{2\pi}[\frac{I_1}{0.320-r}-\frac{I_2}{r}]=0\\\\I_1r=I_2(0.320-r)\\\\r(I_1+I_2)=0.320I_2\\\\r=\frac{0.320I_2}{I_1+I_2}=\frac{0.320(15.46)}{15.46+30.0}=0.108m

hence, for y=0.108m the magnitude of B is zero

A shopper weighs 4.00 kg of apples on a supermarket scale whose spring obeys Hooke's law and notes that the spring stretches a d
Irina-Kira [14]

Answer:

a) 0.040625 m

b) 5.02272 J

Explanation:

k = Spring constant

x = Stretched length

F = Force

a)

F=kx\\\Rightarrow k=\frac{F}{x}\\\Rightarrow k=\frac{4\times 9.81}{0.025}\\\Rightarrow k=1569.6\ N/m

F=kx\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{F}{k}\\\Rightarrow x=\frac{6.5\times 9.81}{1569.6}\\\Rightarrow x=0.040625\ m

Extension of the spring would be 0.040625 m

b) Work done in a spring

W=\frac{1}{2}kx^2\\\Rightarrow W=\frac{1}{2}\times 1569.6\times 0.08^2\\\Rightarrow W=5.02272\ J

The work done by the shopper to stretch this spring a total distance of 8.00 cm is 5.02272 J

When one bumper car is still and the other one hits it (both cars have the same mass) what happens?
statuscvo [17]

the first bump car will move

Explanation:

this is because as long as the other bumper car is coming with force, it mass changes and then , it is able to push the other one

Neurotransmitters are typically stored in which parts of a neuron?
Doss [256]

Answer:  Neurotransmitters are being produced by neuron and stored in vesicles.

Explanation:

Neurotransmitters are secreted into the synaptic gap by exocytosis process, where the vesicles membranes fuse with the presynaptic button. The synaptic gap is usually in the order of 0.02 micron.

Several neurotransmitters include Acetylcholine, Dopamine, GABA (gamma-aminobutyric acid), Glutamate, Norepinephrine, and Serotonin.
