If there are 8 people serving two pies, there 1/16 because 8*2= 1) so each person would get 1 out of 16. Hoped that helped... make sence biw?!?!

There are 8 people, but only 2 pies. So to figure out how much each person gets when divided, which is a keyword, equally. So to put it in fraction form it would be 2/8. If you simplify it you get 1/4. In decimal form, 2/8 and 1/4 both equal 0.25. Hope this helps you to understand it a bit more!

Ribbon A is 1/3 m long. It is 2/5 m shorter than Ribbon B. What's the total length of the two ribbons?
Softa [21]

Hi

Answer:

\frac{11}{15}

Step-by-step explanation:

A = \frac{1}{3}

B = \frac{2}{5}

_

A = \frac{1x5}{3x5}=\frac{5}{15}

B = \frac{2x3}{5x3}=\frac{6}{15}

\frac{5}{15} + \frac{6}{15} = \frac{11}{15}

_

Good Luck!

Kendra is determining the distance between the points (6, 8) and (2, –3). Her work is shown below.
Sergeeva-Olga [200]
The x-coordinates need to be subtracted and the y-coordinates need to be subtracted.

The x-coordinates are 6 and 2.
Their subtraction is 6 - 2.
Kendra did this correctly.

The y-coordinates are 8 and -3.
Their subtraction is 8 - (-3) = 8 + 3 = 11.
Kendra did this incorrectly. She should have had 8 - (-3) = 8 + 3 = 11.
Then she'd square 11.
Instead, she subtracted 8 and -3 incorrectly and got 8 - 3 = 5.
Then she squared 5 when she should have squared 11.

Substitute x+2y=8 3x+2y=6
vekshin1
Use x+2y=8
Subtract 2y to make
x=8-2y

Plug this in to the other equation
3(8-2y)+2y=6

Distribute the 3
24-6y+2y=6

Combine like terms
24-4y=6

Solve
18/4=y, 9/2=y

Plug and solve for x
X+2y=8
X+(2*9/2)=8
X+9=8
X=-1
