Answer:

Q = -3280J

Explanation:

From the First Law of Thermodynamics, energy cannot be created nor destroyed but it can be converted from one form to another with the interaction of heat. Mathematically, this can be expressed as:

ΔU = Q + W        ----------(i)

Where;

ΔU = total change in internal energy of a system.

Q = heat exchanged between the system and the surrounding

W = work done by or on the system.

If heat is lost into the surrounding, then Q = -ve, else Q = +ve

If work is done on the system, then W = -ve, else W = -ve

=> From the question, Rick is the system and does a work of

W = +1090J  [since Rick does the work, W = +ve]

=>Also, the internal energy decreases by 2190J, therefore,

ΔU = -2190J [since there is a decrease in internal energy]

Substitute the values of W and ΔU into equation (i) as follows;

-2190 = Q + 1090

=> Q = -2190 - 1090

=> Q = -3280J

Therefore, the value of Q = -3280J

Let's apply Snell's law to the refraction of light across a water–air interface. Suppose you kneel beside the fishpond in your b
Nataliya [291]

Answer:

The angle of refraction is 41.68°.

Explanation:

The refractive index for water is n_2 = 1.333, and for air n_1 = 1.00: the angle of light with the normal is 90^o-60^o = 30^o; therefore Snell's law gives

n_1sin(\theta_1)= n_2sin(\theta_2)

1.00*sin(\theta_1) = 1.33 sin(30^o)

sin (\theta_1) = \dfrac{1.33sin(30^o)}{1.00}

sin (\theta_1) = 0.665

\theta _1 = sin^{-1}(0.665)

\boxed{\theta_1 = 41.68^o}

In 5 or more sentences, explain how you can make everyday count ?
IceJOKER [234]
You can make everyday count by accomplishing all the tasks you have for that day. Also you can try and find the positive throughout the day. Another thing you could do is eat a healthy meal. You can do a workout and that will make you feel better about your self. The last thing you can do is always have a good mindset about that day.

How can energy be traced as it is converted
through different transformations?
Mumz [18]

Answer:

Energy transformations are processes that convert energy from one type (e.g., kinetic, gravitational potential, chemical energy) into another. Any type of energy use must involve some sort of energy transformation.

Which situations are necessary components for malpractice to occur?
Yuri [45]

a. The risk of injury must be predictable.

b. A "breach of duty" is when a professional fails to uphold a level of care.

c. There must be a standard of care in place, and the practitioner must assume responsibility for the patient.

d. There must be a clear link between the treatment received and the harm.

What is malpractice?

Malpractice, commonly referred to as professional negligence, is defined as "an incident of carelessness or incompetence on the part of a professional" under tort law.

The following professionals might be the target of malpractice claims:

Medical professionals: If a doctor or other healthcare practitioner does not exercise the level of care and competence that a similarly situated professional in the same medical field would deliver under the circumstances, a medical malpractice claim may be made against them.

Lawyers: Failure to provide services with the amount of competence, care, and diligence that a reasonable lawyer would use in the same situation may be grounds for a legal malpractice claim.

(50 POINT REWARD) PHYSICS, IMAGE IS ATTACHED BELOW (TRIG/VECTORS)
daser333 [38]

Answer:

Explanation:

The east vector is 10cos45 = 7.07 km

The north vector is 10sin45 - 10 = -2.93 km

The displacement magnitude is

d = √(7.07² + 2.93²) = 7.65... = 8 km

θ = arctan(-2.93/7.07) = -22.51... = 23° south of east.
