A 110.-g sample of copper (specific heat capacity 0.20 J/C g) is heated to 82.4C and then placed in a container of water at 22.3

C. The final temperature of the water and copper is 24.9C. What is the mass of the water in the container, assuming that all the heat lost by the copper is gained by the water.

Answer:

The answer to the question is

The mass of the water in the container, assuming that all the heat lost by the copper is gained by the water is 116.23 grams

Explanation:

To solve this we list out the variables thus,

mass of copper = 110g

specific heat capacity of copper = 0.20 j/C g

Initial temperature of copper = 82.4 C

Final temperature of copper and water = 24.9 C

therefore

From the formula for sensible heat, ΔH = m×c×ΔT

we have, where

H = senced heat,

m = mass,

ΔT = temperature change

110 × 0.20 × (82.4 - 24.9) = mw × 4.186 × (24.9 - 22.3)

1265 J = mw ×10.8836 or mw = 116.23 g

Therefpre the mass of water is 116.23 g

Why do rivers have deltas?
Leokris [45]

Answer:

A delta is formed when the river deposits its material faster than the sea can remove it. ... Cuspate - the land around the mouth of the river juts out arrow-like into the sea. The Ebro Delta. Bird's foot - the river splits on the way to the sea, each part of the river juts out into the sea, rather like a bird's foot.

a diatomic element has six bonding electrons, six non-bonding electrons, and 2 anti-bonding electrons. what is the bond order? g
Deffense [45]

The bond order of a diatomic element with six bonding electrons, six non-bonding electrons, and 2 anti-bonding electrons is 2 whose formula is( bonding electrons-anti bonding electrons)/2.

What is an element?

An element is defined as a substance which cannot be broken down further into any other substance. Each element is made up of its own type of atom. Due to this reason all elements are different from one another.

Elements can be classified as metals and non-metals. Metals are shiny and conduct electricity and are all solids at room temperature except mercury. Non-metals do not conduct electricity and are mostly gases at room temperature except carbon and sulfur.

The number of protons in the nucleus is the defining property of an element and is related to the atomic number.All atoms with same atomic number are atoms of same element.

Sewage and industrial pollutants dumped into a body of water can reduce the dissolved oxygen concentration and adversely affect
MArishka [77]

Answer:

FALSE

Since 0.385 < 0.526, the value for week 3 is accepted.

Explanation:

Qexp = (|Xq - Xₙ₋₁|)/w

where Xq is the suspected outlier; Xₙ₋₁ is the next nearest data point; w is the range of data

First, the data are arranged in decreasing order, from highest to lowest:

3. 5.6

2. 5.1

8. 5.1

1. 4.9

6. 4.9

5. 4.7

7. 4.5

4. 4.3

Xq = 5.6; Xₙ₋₁ = 5.1; w = 5.6 - 4.3 = 1.3

Qexp = (|5.6 - 5.1|)/1.3 = 0.385

From tables, at 95% confidence level, for n = 8, Qcrit = 0.526

Since 0.385 < 0.526, the value for week 3 is accepted.

Answer:

1. 505g is the mass of the aluminium.

2. The answer is in the explanation

Explanation:

1. To solve this question we need to find the volume of the rectangle. With the volume and density we can find the mass of the solid:

Volume = 7.45cm*4.78cm*5.25cm

Volume = 187cm³

Mass:

187cm³ * (2.702g/cm³) = 505g is the mass of the aluminium

2. When the temperature of a liquid increases, the volume increases doing the density decreases because density is inversely proportional to volume. And works in the same way for gases because the temperature produce more collisions and the increasing in volume.
