I'd just keep in mind the relationships for: g = 9.81 m/s²
<span>and universal gravitational acceleration: </span>
<span>ie that: </span>
<span>for MASS, its directly proportional: </span>
<span>a mass that is 0.815 of Earth's would have a gravitational acceleration that's: </span>
<span>0.815g </span>
<span>and </span>
<span>for RADIUS (R) of planet, it's inversely proportional to the square of R </span>
<span>a planet with radius that's 0.949 of Earth's would have a gravitational acceleration of: </span>
<span>(1/0.949)² = 1.11g </span>

<span>the combination of these two effects would be: </span>
<span>(0.815 • 1.11)g = 0.905g = 8.88 m/s²</span>

Answer:

Part a)

g_{venus} = 8.87 m/s^2

Part b)

W = 67.9 N

Explanation:

As we know that the acceleration due to gravity is given as

g = \frac{GM}{R^2}

where we know that

M = mass of planet

R = radius of planet

if we plug in mass of earth and radius of earth in above equation then we will have

g = 9.8 m/s^2

now if we will find it for Venus

M = 0.815M_{earth}

R = 0.949R_{earth}

now from above formula again

g_{venus} = \frac{G(0.815M_{earth})}{(0.949R_{earth})^2}

g_{venus} = 0.90g_{earth}

g_{venus} = 0.90 \times 9.8

g_{venus} = 8.87 m/s^2

Part b)

If Rock weigh 75 N on surface of Earth

then we have

F_g = mg

75 = m(9.8 m/s^2)

m = 7.65 kg

now on the surface of Venus its weight is given as

W = mg_{venus}

W = 7.65 \times 8.87

W = 67.9 N

A grating whose slits are 3.2x10^-4 cm apart produces a third-order fringe at a 25.°0 angle. What is the wavelength of light tha
Ber [7]

Answer:

The light used has a wavelenght of 4.51×10^-7 m.

Explanation:

let:

n be the order fringe

Ф be the angle that the light makes

d is the slit spacing of the grating

λ be the wavelength of the light

then, by Bragg's law:

n×λ = d×sin(Ф)

λ = d×sin(Ф)/n

λ = (3.2×10^-4 cm)×sin(25.0°)/3

  = 4.51×10^-5 cm

  ≈ 4.51×10^-7 m

Therefore, the light used has a wavelenght of 4.51×10^-7 m.

A mass of 5 kg of saturated water vapor at 150 kPa is heated at constant pressure until the temperature reaches 200°C. Calculate
yulyashka [42]

Answer:

The work done by the steam is 213 kJ.

Explanation:

Given that,

Mass = 5 kg

Pressure = 150 kPa

Temperature = 200°C

We need to calculate the specific volume

Using formula of work done

W=Pm\DeltaV

W=Pm(\dfrac{RT_{1}}{P_{atm}}-\dfrac{RT_{2}}{P_{atm}}

W=\dfrac{PmR}{P_{atm}}(T_{2}-T_{1})

Where,R = gas constant

T = temperature

P = pressure

P_{atm}=Atmosphere pressure

m = mass

Put the value into the formula

W=\dfrac{150\times10^{3}\times5\times287.05}{1.01\times10^{5}}\times(473-373)

W=213\ kJ

Hence, The work done by the steam is 213 kJ.

Describe how to prepare a 10.0% w/v solution of salt in water in a 100 mL volumetric flask
Sphinxa [80]
To prepare a 10.0% w/v solution of salt in water in a 100 mL volumetric flask, first you must weigh 10 g of salt because the 10 % 100 is 10 and the given should be 10 % w/v. place the 10 g salt to the volumetric flask then add water up until to mark of the volumetric flask then shake it.
