Suppose you invest $2,500 in a fund earning 10% simple interest annually. After two years you have the option of moving your mon

ey to an account that pays compound interest at an annual effective rate of 7%. Should you move your money to the compound interest account (a) if you wish to liquidate in five more years?(b) if you are confident your money will stay on deposit for a total of ten years?

Answer:

account after 2 years of simple interest at 10%: (2,500 * 0.10 * 2) + 2500 = 3,000

Note that simple interest only pays interest on the original balance, NOT on the accrued (paid) interest....

a) 5 more years at 10% simple: (2500 * 0.10 * 5) + 3,000 = $4,250

or

5 years compound interest on $3k: 3,000(1.07^5) = $4,207.66

b) TOTAL of 10 years

simple interest: (2500 * 0.10 * 10) + 2500 = 5,000

compound interest: only 8 years remain of the total 10 year time horizon

3000(1.07^8) = $5,154.56

Part A: Create a system of linear equations with no solution. In two or more complete sentences, explain the specific characteri
Dmitrij [34]
Part A.
You need two equations with the same slope and different y-intercepts.
Their graph is parallel lines. Since the lines do not intersect, there is no solution.

y = 2x + 2
y = 2x - 2

Part B.
We use the first equation as above. For the second equation, we use an equation with different slope. Two lines with different slopes always intersect.

y = 2x + 2
y = -2x - 2

In the second equation, y = -2x - 2. We now substitute -2x - 2 for y in the first equation.

-2x - 2 = 2x + 2

-4x = 4

x = -1

Now substitute -1 for x in the first equation to find y.

y = 2x + 2

y = 2(-1) + 2

y = -2 + 2

y = 0

Solution: x = -1 and y = 0

A.) the degrees inside the triangles are 50, 70, and 60. you know because 180-120=60
b.) you know that they are similar triangles because they have the same angle degrees.

im not sure if this is correct but i think it is :)
