How many grams of methane are needed to form 33.6 L of carbon dioxide

Chemistry

If you suppose standard temperature and pressure, 1 mol = 22.4 liters.

33.6 liters* 1mol/22.4liters = 1.5 mols.

Molar mass of carbon dioxide: 12 g/mol + 2x16 g/mol = 44 g/mol

Mass of 1.5 mols = 1.5mol * 44 g/mol = 66 g.

Which best describes the difference between Mitosis and Meiosis?
Lorico [155]

Answer:

Cells produced by meiosis are genetically identical, and cells produced by mitosis are genetically unique.

Explanation:

Cells produced by mitosis possess half the genetic material of cells produced by meiosis. Mitosis only occurs in the presence of oxygen, while meiosis can occur in the absence of oxygen.

Starting with the partially balanced equation, C2H5OH(l)+?O2(g)→2CO2(g)+3H2O(l) what coefficient should be placed in front of O2
SpyIntel [72]

Answer: The coefficient '3' should be placed infront of oxygen gas to balance the oxygen atoms.

Explanation:

Law of conservation of mass states that mass can neither be created nor be destroyed but it can only be transformed from one form to another form.

This also means that total mass on the reactant side must be equal to the total mass on the product side.

A balanced chemical equation is defined as the equation in which total number of individual atoms on the reactant side is equal to the total number of individual atoms on product side.

For the given chemical reaction, the balanced equation follows:

C_2H_5OH(l)+3O_2(g)\rightarrow 2CO_2(g)+3H_2O(l)

By Stoichiometry of the reaction:

1 mole of ethanol reacts with 3 moles of oxygen gas to produce 2 moles of carbon dioxide gas and 3 moles of water molecule

Hence, the coefficient '3' should be placed infront of oxygen gas to balance the oxygen atoms.
