As a doctor in the local hospital, I would have to deal with teenagers being sick and brought into the hospital. Binge drinking may cause alcohol poisoning, especially since teenagers will more or less take in more than their bodies can handle at a given time. Being brought to the hospital would mean that they would be missing school at best, or will result to death, at worst.

As a commander of the local police, alcohol would be a factor to the rising delinquency rates among the youth. Under the influence of alcohol, teenagers may be pushed to do illegal things like vandalism, drug use, and many more, since they would not be thinking straight. I would have to deal with the capturing of these delinquents.

As a youth worker, it is my job to make sure that the youth are growing up in the right environment. Considering that if the youth has been involved with the police or has been sent to the hospital from binge drinking, it will show that these particular members of the youth have made poor choices in life. When left unguided, it may result to even worse situations in the future. Youth sent to the police may need extra care since they have already shown signs of delinquency, and may not listen to higher authorities.

As a school principal, it is my job to make sure that these kids are getting the education they need to help mold their futures. If one of my students have been caught binge drinking and suffering from the effects of it, it would hinder them from getting the education that they need. Worse, when a student decides from drop out from school because of addiction to alcohol, it would be my job to get them back on track.

A basketball player jumps straight up for a ball. To do this, he lowers his body 0.310 m and then accelerates through this dista
Nastasia [14]

Answer:A)u =4.295m/s  , B)a = 29.746m/s²   C) F=3,153N

Explanation:

Using the kinematic expression

v² = u² - 2as

where

u = initial velocity

v = final velocity

s = distance

g = acceleration due to gravity .

Given that he reaches a height of 0.940 m above the floor,

the final velocity  = 0

Here, acceleration due to gravity is acting in  opposite the initial direction of motion. So, a=-9.81 m/s.

v² = u² + 2as

0² - u² = 2 (- 9.81) × 0.940

- u² = 2 × - 9.81 × 0.920

- u² = -18.4428

cancelling the minus in both sides , we have that

u² = 18.4428

u = √18.4428

u =4.295m/s

(b) His acceleration (in m/s2) while he is straightening his legs. He goes from zero to the velocity found in part (a) in a distance of 0.310 m. m/s2

Using v² = u² + 2as

where u = initial speed of basketball player before lengthening = 0 m/s,

v = final speed of basketball player after lengthening =  4.295m/s,

a = acceleration while  straightening his legs

s = distance moved during lengthening = 0.310m

v² = u² + 2as

 a = (v² - u²)/2s

a = (4.29m/s)² - (0 m/s)²)/(2 × 0.310m)

a = (18.4428 m²/s² - 0 m²/s²)/(0.62 m)

a = (18.4428 m²/s²/(0.62 m)

a = 29.746m/s²

c) The force (in N) he exerts on the floor to do this, given that his mass is 106 kg. N

Force= mass x acceleration.

F = 106 kg X 29.746m/s²

 F = 3,153.076 rounded to  3,153N

A spinning ice skater will speed up if he brings his arms close to his body. Which of the following statements explains this phe
xxMikexx [17]
A. Angular momentum is always conserved would be the correct answer.

This is because like linear momentum (mvmv), angular momentum (r×mvr×mv) is a conserved quantity, where rr is the vector from the center of rotation. For a skater holding a static pose, for each particle making up her body, the contribution in magnitude to the total angular momentum is given by mirivimirivi. Thus bringing in her arms reduces riri for those particles. In order to conserve angular momentum, there is then an increase in the angular velocity.

hope this helps!

A race car accelerates uniformly at 14.2 m/s2. If the race car starts from rest how fast will it
Kaylis [27]

Answer:

vf=94.4 m/s

Explanation:

acceleration is the final velocity minus initial velocity divided by time

a = (vf-vi)/t

Given:

a= 14.2 m/s^2

vi= 0 (at rest)

t = 6.6

Solve for vf

a = (vf-vi)/t

a*t=vf-vi

(14.2)*(6.6)=vf - 0

vf=94.4 m/s
