Answer : The least number of amino acids in a polypeptide are 10

Explanation :

A peptide is a compound which is formed by joining of 2 or more amino acids by peptide linkage.

Depending on the number of amino acids involved in the formation of the peptide,it can be classified as follows.

1) Dipeptide : This is the shortest peptide chain and contains only 2 amino acids.

2) Polypeptide : This is formed when 10 or more amino acids are joined together. A polypeptide can have 10 to 50 amino acid molecules.

When the number of amino acids are more than 50, then the compound is termed as a "protein".

Therefore we can say that the least number of amino acids in a polypeptide are 10.
