Plug in -5 for x

f(-5) = -9(-5) + 3

Simplify

-9 x -5 = 45

45 + 3 = 48

f(-5) = 48

hope this helps

Put the value of x = -5 to the equation of the function:

f(x)=-9x+3\to f(-5)=(-9)(-5)+3=45+3=48

Answer: f(-5) = 48.

The zeroes of the polynomial functions are as follows:

  • For the polynomial, f(x) = 2x(x - 3)(2 - x), the zeroes are 3, 2
  • For the polynomial, f(x) = 2(x - 3)²(x + 3)(x + 1), the zeroes are 3, - 3, and -1
  • For the polynomial, f(x) = x³(x + 2)(x - 1), the zeroes are -2, and 1

<h3>What are the zeroes of a polynomial?</h3>

The zeroes of a polynomial are the vales of the variable which makes the value of the polynomial to be zero.

The polynomials are given as follows:

f(x) = 2x(x - 3)(2 - x)

f(x) = 2(x - 3)²(x + 3)(x + 1)

f(x) = x³(x + 2)(x - 1)

For the polynomial, f(x) = 2x(x - 3)(2 - x), the zeroes are 3, 2

For the polynomial, f(x) = 2(x - 3)²(x + 3)(x + 1), the zeroes are 3, - 3, and -1

For the polynomial, f(x) = x³(x + 2)(x - 1), the zeroes are -2, and 1

In conclusion, the zeroes of a polynomial will make the value of the polynomial function to be zero.

In this truss bridge, AAOB ABDC. AO=5 meters, BD=10 meters, AB=5 meters. What is the length of BC? A. 5 m B. 8 m C. 10 m D. 15 m
Olenka [21]

Consider \Delta AOB\cong \Delta BDC.

Given:

\Delta AOB\cong \Delta BDC, AO=5\ m,BD=10\ m, AB=5\ m.

To find:

The length of BC.

Solution:

We have,

\Delta AOB\cong \Delta BDC

We know that the corresponding parts of congruent triangles are congruent (CPCTC).

AB=BC                   (CPCTC)

5\ m=BC

The length of BC is 5 m. Therefore, the correct option is A.

In a study of 250 adults, the mean heart rate was 70 beats per minute. Assume the population of heart rates is known to be appro

This is a good question!

The steps are like follows:

Form the confidence level (99%), we calculate the "alpha" value
alpha=1-(99/100)=0.01

Now, calculate the critical probability (p-start)
p*=1-(alpha/2)=1-(0.01/2)=0.995

z-score could be calculated from p*,,,
z-score=<span>2.57583
(http://www.socscistatistics.com/tests/ztest/zscorecalculator.aspx)

Now, calculate the Margin of Error:
</span>standard<span> deviation = s
number of adults = n
</span><span>
ME=(z*s)/(sqrt n)=(</span><span>2.57583*12)/(sqrt 250) = 1.955

The confidence interval = mean +or- ME
                                      = 70+1.955</span>  or  70-1.955

So that we can conclude that <span>the 99% confidence interval for the mean beats per minute is 68.045 and 71.955

</span>

I hope you got the idea!

A rectangle has a width of 2cm and a perimeter of 25cm. Find the length and the area .
Gwar [14]

2w + 2l = 25

2 * 2 + 2l = 25

<em><u>Simplfiy.</u></em>

4 + 2l = 25

<em><u>Subtract 4 from both sides.</u></em>

2l = 21

<em><u>Divide both sides by 2.</u></em>

l = 10.5

Now that we have the value of l, we can find the area.

A = lw

A = 10.5 * 2

A = 21.

The length is 10.5cm.

The area of the rectangle is 21cm^2
