write in point slope form the equation of a line through (-3, 8) and (7, 6). A. y-6=1/5(x-7), B. y-8=-1/5(x+3), C. y-8=1/5(x=3)
Anna [14]
First you have to find the slope, the slope formula is m = y2 - y1/ x2 - x1

m = y2 - y1/ x2 - x1       (-3, 8)  (7, 6)
m = 6 - 8/ 7 - (-3)
m = -2/10
m = -1/5

point-slope formula;
y - y1 = m(x - x1)            m = -1/5   (-3, 8)
y - 8 = -1/5(x - (-3)
y - 8 = -1/5(x + 3)

so the answer is, B.

hope this helps, God bless!

If 18 plums weigh 54 ounces then 27 plums weigh x ounces
sergiy2304 [10]

Answer:

81 ounces

Step-by-step explanation:

Divide 54 by 18 to find the weight of 1 plum then multiply this by 27.

54 ounces ÷ 18 = 3 ounces , then

27 plums = 27 × 3 = 81 ounces

What is the slope of a trend line that passes through the points (5, 80) and (7, 65)?
Vlad [161]

Answer:

-15/2 or -7.5 or -7½

Negative StartFraction 15 Over 2 EndFraction

Step-by-step explanation:

Slope or gradient of a line is the ratio of change in y co-ordinates to the change in x co-ordinates.

Therefore;

M=∆y÷∆x

The change in y co-ordinates is given by

∆y=y2-y1

Similarly, change in x co-ordinates is given by

∆x=x2-x1

Given the two points as (5, 80) and (7, 65)

X1=5 Y1=80

X2=7 Y2=65

∆y=65-80=-15

∆x=7-5=2

Hence ∆y÷∆x will be -15÷2=-7.5 or -7½

Negative StartFraction 15 Over 2 EndFraction

Are these factors equivalent or nonequivalent?
dusya [7]
I'm pretty sure the above fractions are equivalent because if you reduce 5s/15t then it equals s/3t.
