There is a maximum depth at which a diver can breathe through a snorkel tube because as the depth increases, so does the pressur

e difference, which tends to collapse the diver’s lungs. Since the snorkel connects the air in the lungs to the atmosphere at the surface, the pressure inside the lungs is atmospheric pressure. What is the external–internal pressure difference when the diver’s lungs are at a depth of 6.1 m (about 20 ft)? Assume that the diver is in freshwater. (A scuba diver breathing from compressed air tanks can operate at greater depths than can a snorkeler, since the pressure of the air inside the scuba diver’s lungs increases to match the external pressure of the water.)

Answer:59.78\times 10^3\ Pa

Explanation:

Given

Diver is at a depth of h=6.1\ m inside the water(\rho=10^3\ kg/m^3)

As we go down pressure increases due to the weight of liquid column above us

Pressure difference is given by P=\rho \times g \times h

Where \rho=density of liquid

h=depth

g=acceleration due to gravity

So external-internal pressure difference is

\Delta P=10^3\times 9.8\times 6.1

\Delta P=59.78\times 10^3\ Pa

When the object is lifted 6 meters of the ground , then lifted to 12 meters, it is lifted twice as high ( 6 x 2 = 12).

This means the potential energy is also doubled.

Is energy transformation from potential to kinetic 100%?
Arada [10]
Yes. take a bow for instance. while pulling back the string you have potential energy. when you let the string go and the arrow flies towards your target the string is filled with kinetic energy.
