Answer:  Scott rode faster the bicycle faster than Jill

Explanation:

Always Remember that the units should be in the standard form, so first convert minutes into hours

1 hour = 60 mins

Convert mins to hr

So,

60 mins = 1 hour

30 min = 0.5 hours

Jill traveled = 5 Km

Time = 0.5 hours

Speed = distance/time

Speed = 5km/0.5 hr

10km/hr  is Jill’s speed

Now find Scott’s speed

Scott traveled =10Km

Time = 0.5 hours

Speed = distance/time

= 10km/0.5hrs

= 20km/hr is  Scott’s speed

Ok first of all we have to convert in km/hr=Speed

So 30min are 0.5hours

Then we use S= distance/time = 5km/0.5 hrs = 10km/hr —> Jill speed

Then S= d/t = 10km/0.5hrs = 20km/hr —> Scott speed

So Scott rode faster

Explain how the density of a gas is different from the density of a liquid.
zavuch27 [327]

Answer

The same number of particles in a gas spread further apart than in the liquid or solid states.

Explanation:

The same number of particles in a gas spread further apart than in the liquid or solid states. The same mass takes up a bigger volume. This means the gas is less dense. Density also depends on the material.

Sliva [168]

According to Newton’s law of universal gravitation, as we move to higher altitudes, the force of gravity on us decreases and as we gain mass, the force of gravity on us increases both are the true statement.

<u>Explanation:  </u>

Newton law of universal gravity extends gravity beyond the earth's surface. This gravity depends on the masses directly and inverse to the distance square between their centers.

                                         F=G \frac{M \times m}{r^{2}}

Where,

F – Force, G – gravitational constant, M and m – masses in kg, r – distance in meters.

Since force is proportional to the masses of interacting objects. If the mass of any one object increases, gravity between them also gets increased. When moving to higher altitude, force decreases as the distance is inverse proportion to gravity.

A small marble attached to a massless thread is hung from a horizontal support. When the marble is pulled back a small distance
s2008m [1.1K]

Answer:

f' = 2 f

Explanation:

The frequency of the pendulum that swings in simple harmonic motion is given by :

f={2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{l}{g}}

Where

l is the length of pendulum

g is the acceleration due to gravity

If the length of the thread is increased by a factor of 4, such that, l' = 4 l, let f' is the new frequency such that,

f'={2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{l' }{g}}

f'={2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{4l}{g}}

f'=2\times {2\pi}\sqrt{\dfrac{l}{g}}

f' = 2 f

So, the new frequency of the pendulum will become 2 time of initial frequency. Hence, the correct option is (b) "2f"
