Answer:  Scott rode faster the bicycle faster than Jill

Explanation:

Always Remember that the units should be in the standard form, so first convert minutes into hours

1 hour = 60 mins

Convert mins to hr

So,

60 mins = 1 hour

30 min = 0.5 hours

Jill traveled = 5 Km

Time = 0.5 hours

Speed = distance/time

Speed = 5km/0.5 hr

10km/hr  is Jill’s speed

Now find Scott’s speed

Scott traveled =10Km

Time = 0.5 hours

Speed = distance/time

= 10km/0.5hrs

= 20km/hr is  Scott’s speed

Ok first of all we have to convert in km/hr=Speed

So 30min are 0.5hours

Then we use S= distance/time = 5km/0.5 hrs = 10km/hr —> Jill speed

Then S= d/t = 10km/0.5hrs = 20km/hr —> Scott speed

So Scott rode faster

A frictionless piston-cylinder device contains 4.5 kg of nitrogen at 110 kPa and 200 K. Nitrogen is now compressed slowly accord
pochemuha

Answer:

427.392 kJ

Explanation:

m = Mass of gas = 4.5 kg

Initial temperature = 200 K

Final temperature = 360 K

R = Mass specific gas constant = 296.8 J/kgK

\gamma = Specific heat ratio = 1.5

Work done for a polytropic process is given by

W=\frac{mR\Delta T}{1-\gamma}\\\Rightarrow W=\frac{4.5\times 296.8(360-200)}{1-1.5}\\\Rightarrow W=-427392\ J\\\Rightarrow W=-427.392\ kJ

The work input during the process is -427.392 kJ

A ship is to reach a place 10° south of west. In what direction should it be steered if declination at the place is 17° west?.
Readme [11.4K]

The direction is 7⁰ from west to the south.

We need to know about the degree and direction to solve this problem. The angle between west and south is 90⁰.

From the question above, we know that

Position = 10⁰ south of west

Destination = 17⁰ south of west

Hence, the direction of the ship should be

Direction from west = Destination - Position

Direction from west =  17⁰ - 10⁰

Direction from west =  7⁰

The direction is 7⁰ from west

or

Direction from south = Destination - Position

Direction from south =  (90⁰ - 17⁰) - (90⁰ - 10⁰)

Direction from south =  -7⁰

The direction is 7⁰ to the south.

Hence, the direction is 7⁰ from west to the south.

A box is pulled with a horizontal force of 500N and moves 5m what is work done
dalvyx [7]
The answer to the question is shown below:

We all know that formula for solving work done is the force multiplied by distance covered:
Work done = Force x distance
Distance = 5m
Force = 500 N
Work done = 500 N * 5m
Work done = 2500 J
