Answer:

The average speed of the Earth in its orbit is 4.74 km/s.

Explanation:

Distance between the Earth and the Sun ,r= 149.60 million km = 149.60\times 10^6 km

Considering the movement of Earth  around the Sun follows circular path.

The circumference of circular path will be give by :

D=2\pi r=2\times 3.14\times 149.60\times 10^6 km

Time taken by Earth to complete revolution around earth ,T= 1 year

1 year = 365 days

1 year = 31,536,000 seconds

T = 31,536,000 seconds

Speed of the Earth around the Sun :S

S=\frac{D}{T}=\frac{149.60\times 10^6 km}{31,536,000 s}

S=4.74 km/s

The average speed of the Earth in its orbit is 4.74 km/s.

Light could be thought of as a stream of tiny particles discharged by _______ objects that travel in straight paths. *
Gelneren [198K]

Answer: Light could be thought of as a stream of tiny particles discharged by luminous objects that travel in straight paths.

Explanation:

We can define "radiation" as the transmision of energy trough waves or particles.

Particularly, light is a form of electromagnetic radiation, so the "tiny particles" of light are discharged by a radiating object, particularly we can be more explicit and call it a luminous object, in this way we are being specific about the nature of the radiation of the object.

A 58-kg boy swings a baseball bat, which causes a 0.140-kg baseball to move toward 3rd base with a velocity of 38.0 m/s.
Sophie [7]

Answer:
101 J
Explanation:
The kinetic energy of an object is given by

where
m is the mass of the object
v is its speed
For the baseball in this problem,
m = 0.140 kg
v = 38.0 m/s
Substituting into the equation, we find the kinetic energy of the ball:
