Answer: Option (1) is the correct answer.

Explanation:

As per Le Chatelier's principle, any disturbance caused in an equilibrium reaction will tend to shift the equilibrium in a direction away from the disturbance.

For example, H_{2}O(g) + SO_{3}(g) \rightleftarrow H_{2}SO_{4}(g)

As this given reaction is endothermic in the forward direction and exothermic in the backward direction. Thus, in order to shift the reaction on left side we need to decrease the temperature.

Also, the number of moles are more on reactant side as compared to product side. So, when we decrease the number of moles on reactant side then the equilibrium will shift on left side.

Therefore, we can conclude that for the given reaction decreasing the pressure of the system and lowering the temperature of the system would shift the reaction to the left.

Answer:

1. Answer: The bowling ball has more potential energy as it sits on top of the building. It does not have any kinetic energy because it is not moving.

2. Answer: The bowling ball has equal amounts of potential and kinetic energy half way through the fall. At the half way point, half of the potential energy has been converted to kinetic energy.

3. Answer: Just before the ball hits the ground, it has more kinetic energy. As it hits the ground the potential energy becomes zero.

4. Answer:

PE=784 J

5. Answer:

PE = 392 J

6. Answer:

KE= 392 J

Also, since the PE and KE are equal at the half way point and PE =392 J, KE = 392 J.

7. What is the kinetic energy of the ball just before it hits the ground?

Answer:

KE=784 J

If you could drop 12 atoms of copper onto a beaker containing nitric acid, how many molecules of NO would be produced?
Dahasolnce [82]

Answer:

B) 8.0 molecules.

Explanation:

 • From the balanced equation: 3Cu + 8HNO₃ → 3Cu(NO₃)₂ + 2NO + 4H₂O,

It is clear that 3.0 atoms of Cu react with 8.0 molecules of HNO₃ to produce 3.0 molecules of Cu(NO₃)₂, 2.0 molecules of NO, and 4.0 atoms of H₂O.

Note that: The no. of atoms and molecules is the same ratio to the no. of moles.

Using cross multiplication:

3.0 atoms of Cu produce → 2.0 molecules of NO, from the balanced equation.

12.0 atoms of Cu produce → ??? molecules of NO.

∴ The no. of molecules of NO produced = (2.0 molecules)(12.0 atoms)/(3.0 atoms) = 8.0 molecules.

What would happen if I removed a resistor from a parallel circuit? What would
barxatty [35]

Answer:

In a parallel circuit, current divides through resistors and current might be different depending upon the resistor and all resistors have the same potential difference. Therefore, if a parallel resistor was removed then the total resistance of the circuit will increase.
