Clearly Eduardo is (or feels) in a disadvantage position compared to his classmates. By being in a wheelchair he feels vulnerable, yet he wants to fit in and be treated like a normal student. To achieve this he seems to be making a bunch of very radical moves: he completely <u>rejects other people</u> who are suffering similar problems as him, he <u>exceed´s his physical</u> capabilities (or at least get´s to the limits) <u>just to prove he can do it</u>, and he <u>ridicule himself</u> in front of other just to get acceptance.

Eduardo is not going easy at trying to be accepted, hes actually being very combative, specially towards himself, and that type of behavior is what is called Aggresive asimilation strategy.
