Answer is: the molarity of HCl is 0.097 M.
Chemical reaction: LiOH + HCl → LiCl + H₂O.
V(HCl) = 13.60 mL - 1.25 mL = 12.35 mL.
V(LiOH) = 11.20 mL - 2.65 mL = 8.55 mL.
c(LiOH) = 0.140 M.
From chemical reaction: n(LiOH) : n(HCl) = 1 : 1.
c(HCl) · V(HCl) = c(LiOH) · V(LiOH).
c(HCl) = 8.55 mL · 0.140 M / 12.35 mL.
c(LiOH) = 0.097 M.

The vapor pressure of CCl3F at 300 K is 856 torr. If 11.5 g of CCl F is enclosed in a 1.0-L container, will any liquid be pres-
Lemur [1.5K]

Answer:

Yes, there will be liquid present and the mass is 5.19 g

Explanation:

In order to do this, we need to use the equation of an ideal gas which is:

PV = nRT (1)

Where:

P: Pressure

V: Volume

n: number of moles

R: gas constant

T: Temperature

we know that the pressure is 856 Torr at 300 K. So, if we want to know if there'll be any liquid present, we need to calculate the moles and mass of the CCl3F at this pressure and temperature, and then, compare it to the initial mass of 11.5 g.

From (1), solving for moles we have:

n = PV/RT (2)

Solving for n:

P = 856/760 = 1.13 atm

R = 0.082 L atm / mol K

n = 1.13 * 1 / 0.082 * 300

n = 0.0459 moles

Now, the mass is:

m = n * MM (3)

The molar mass of CCl3F reported is 137.37 g/mol so:

m = 0.0459 * 137.37

m = 6.31 g

Finally, this means that if we put 11.5 g of CCl3F in a container, only 6.31 g will become gaseous, so, this means it will be liquid present, and the mass is:

m = 11.5 - 6.31

m = 5.19 g

Draw a Lewis structure for the resonance form of AsO4^-3, with the lowest possible formal charges. Include any nonzero formal ch
Damm [24]

Answer:

-) Lewis structure: See the figure 1

-) Oxidation number of As = +5

-) Oxidation number of O = -2

Explanation:

The first step is to calculate the total amount of electrons, for As we will have 5 electrons, for all the oxygens we will have 24 electrons (6 electrons for each atom) and finally we will have 3 more due to the charge (-3), so in total we will have: 5+24+3= 32 electrons.

In the lewis structure, we will have as central atom "As" then we have to put the oxygens around the central atom. In this case, As is an exception of the octet rule, in this structure As would have 10 electrons and 8 electrons for each oxygen. So, in the total distribution of the electrons in the structure, we will have the 32 electrons that we calculate in the first step (figure 1).

Finally, in the oxidation number calculation, we have to start with the oxidation number of oxygen. The oxidation number of O is -2 then when we multiply by the number of atoms we will get -8, so the As must have an oxidation number of +5 in order to obtain a total charge of -3 (figure 2).

12. The Action of Phospholipases The venom of the Eastern diamondback rattler and the Indian cobra contains phospholipase A2, wh
Neporo4naja [7]

Answer:

Explanation:

Compounds derived from Phosphatidyl choline are referred to as Lysolecithins. These compounds are amphiphatic in nature and have both hydrophilic and hydrophobic regions.

Choline, glycerol, and phosphate represent the hydrophyilic portion of lysolecithins,while the fatty acid on C1 is hydrophobic in nature.

Glycerol, choline and phosphate act as a polar tail whereas the fatty acid acts as a long polar head which represents an amphipathic molecule like detergents.
