Answer and Explanation:

a.

Her after-tax rate of return for theCity of Heflin bond will be 6% since the City of Heflin bond is a tax exempt bond which is why Melinda’s after tax rate of return on the bond is equal to its pretax rate of return (6 percent).

b.

Melinda pay no explicit tax on the City of Heflin bond because the City of Heflin bond is a tax exempt bond which was the reason why Melinda pays no explicit tax on the interest earned from the City of Heflin bond

c.

Melinda earns $12,000 of interest on the City of Heflin bond (i.e., 6% x $200,000). A similar priced taxable bond (i.e., the Surething, Inc. bond) which would pay $16,000 of taxable interest (i.e., 8% x $200,000). Melinda pays $4,000 of implicit tax on the City of Heflin bond (i.e., the difference between the pretax interest earned from a similar taxable bond ($16,000) and the pretax interest earned from the City of Heflin bond ($12,000).

d. Therefore since Melinda’s marginal tax rate is 25 percent, she would have paid $4,000 of explicit tax which is 25% x $16,000 on the interest earned from the Surething, Inc. bond

e. Melinda after-tax income from the Surething, Inc. bond would be $12,000 which is ($16,000 interest income - $4,000 tax). hence, her after-tax return from the Surething, Inc. bond would be 6 percent (after-tax income of $12,000 divided by her $200,000 investment)

Suppose that a firm operating in perfectly competitive market sells 50 units of output. Its total revenues from the sale are $50
jekas [21]

Answer:

ii) Average revenue equals $10

Explanation:

A perfectly competitive market is where there are many buyers and sellers of homogenous goods. They are price takers. Price = marginal cost = marginal revenue = average revenue

Total revenue = price × quantity sold

$500 = price × 50

Price = $10

Average revenue = Total revenue / output

$500 / 50 = $10

Mnenie [13.5K]

Answer:

organic word-of-mouth

Explanation:

Organic word-of-mouth refers to the situation in which a person turns into a promoter for a product providing information about it without any influence because he/she is satisfied with the product and wants to share it with other people. According to this and considering that Beth found the right sunscreen and she decided to tell all her close friends about how good the product is, this is an example of organic word-of-mouth.

Imagine that you invest $100,000 in an account that pays 5.9% annual interest compounded monthly. What will your balance be at t
kodGreya [7K]
The compound interest formula is: A= P(1+ \frac{r}{n} ) ^{nt}
Where:
A is the amount you will have.
P is the money you are investing.
r: is the interest rate (in decimals)
n: number of times the interest is compounded per year
t: time (in years)

The first thing is converting the rate from percentage to decimal:
\frac{5.9}{100} = 0.059

Since the interest is compounded every month and a year has 12 months n=12.

Now we can replace the values in our formula:
A=100000(1+ \frac{0.059}{12} ) ^{(12)(18)}

We can simplify the exponents to get:
A=100000(1+ \frac{0.059}{12} ) ^{216}

Finally, we can use our calculator to get 288463.33

After 18 your balance in your bank account will be $288463.33
