When fertilizers run off farmland into streams and ponds, the nitrogen content of the water increases. This can lead to rapid gr

owth of algae in a process called eutrophication. How can this process affect other organisms in the water?
The water becomes better able to support aerobic organisms.

Oxygen is used up as algae is decomposed, reducing the amount available to other organisms.

The algae provide food for fishes and other organisms, leading to decreased algae populations.

The extra nitrogen provides additional food for the other organisms, increasing their population.

The correct answer is '<span>Oxygen is used up as algae is decomposed, reducing the amount available to other organisms.</span>' The additional nutrients in the water will result in an algal bloom. These algae will result in drastic oxygen fluctuation, from oxygen rich conditions during the day as algae photosynthesize, to anoxic conditions during the night when the algae respire. However, the algal bloom will eventually deplete the available nutrients, resulting in a vast algal die off. The decomposing algae result in anoxic conditions, and the effects are sometimes very obvious, with fish gasping for breath and dying.

An unlearned behavior directly linked to a stimulus that is carried to completion once initiated and is essentially unchangeable
erastova [34]

A fixed action pattern is a behavior that is carried out to completion once started, regardless of changes in the original stimulus and the sequence is unchangeable. The unlearned behavior of fixed action patterns are triggered by a type of external stimulus that start off a particular organism.

Air temperature: When temperatures (and the humidity) soar, the heart pumps a little more blood, so your pulse rate may increase, but usually no more than five to 10 beats a minute.<span>Body position: Resting, sitting or standing, your pulse is usually the same. Sometimes as you stand for the first 15 to 20 seconds, your pulse may go up a little bit, but after a couple of minutes it should settle down. Emotions: If you’re stressed, anxious or “extraordinarily happy or sad” your emotions can raise your pulse. </span><span>Body size: Body size usually doesn’t change pulse. If you’re very obese, you might see a higher resting pulse than normal, but usually not more than 100. </span><span>Medication use: Meds that block your adrenaline (beta blockers) tend to slow your pulse, while too much thyroid medication or too high of a dosage will raise it.

One reason that regulation of gene expression is important is that it saves energy and materials from being used when they are n
gayaneshka [121]

Answer:Transcriptional Regulation

Explanation:

Eukaryotic gene expression can be regulated during the time of transcription and RNA processing, which takes place in the nucleus of the cell and then during the time of protein translation in the cytoplasm.

Further regulation is being carried during the time of post transnational modification. The conservation of energy is very important because it saves the overall energy and space in the body.

Hence, the most important point for the regulation would be transcriptional regulation.
