What is the direction of the force for a negative charge moving downward in a magnetic field pointing to the left?

A charge is moving downwards so let say this downwards direction is along -z direction

Also here magnetic field is given towards left so let say left direction is towards -x direction

now we have to find force direction so as we know that force on a moving charge is given by

F = q(\vec v \times \vec B)

so here we have

F = q(v(-\hat k) \times B(-\hat i))

F = qvB(\hat j)

so force is along +Y direction

What do miles, kilometers, and light-years have in common?

Radda [10]

They are all units of measure of length

Explanation:

Length is a scalar quantity representing a distance between two points, and it can be expressed in different units.

The SI units of the length is the metre (m), which is defined as the length of the path travelled by light in vacuum during a time interval of 1/299,792,458 of a second.

A unit which is common used is a multiple of the meter, the kilometre (km) which corresponds to 1000 metres:

1 km = 1000 m

Another unit used in the UK system is the mile (mi), where the conversion factor between miles and metres is

1 mi = 1609.34 m

Finally, these units are not suitable to be used to measure astronomical distances - such as those between stars and galaxies. For this, another unit is used, which is the light-year (ly), which corresponds to the distance travelled by the light in a vacuum in one year, and its conversion factor to the metre is:

1 ly = 9.46\cdot 10^{15}ly

In a circuit, three pieces of wire labeled A, B and C are joined at a common point, D. If wire B carries 1.5 mA in a direction a
Alex_Xolod [135]

Answer:

correct option is a. 0.2 mA toward D

Explanation:

given data

B carries = 1.5 mA

C carries current  = 1.3 mA

solution

we take positive direction of current going away from the point D

and negative direction of current coming towards point D

so we use here kirchoff's current law that is

iA + iB + iC = 0    ......................1

iA + 1.5 + (-1.3) = 0

iA = - 0.2 mA

so that current in wire A is 0.2 mA towards point D

correct option is a. 0.2 mA toward D

The amplitude of the voltage across an inductor can be greater than the amplitude of the generator EMF in an AC RLC circuit. Con
Degger [83]

Answer:

VL=2107.6v

Explanation:

at resonance xc=xL

1/wc = wL

z=R

because sqr(R^2+(xL-xc))

^

(xL=xc)

V/R=I

90/28.9=3.1142A

w=1/sqr(1.31×(2.86×10^-6))=516.63

xL= wL

xL= 516.63×1.31=676.785

VL=3.1142×676.785

VL=2107.6v
