A capacitor with plates separated by distance do is charged to a voltage difference ΔVC. All wires and batteries are disconnecte

d, then the two plates are pushed together (with insulated handles so charges cannot flow) to a new separation distance that was half the original distance ( ). Which of the following quantities will be doubled as a result of this new separation distance?
a. The capacitance of the capacitor, C.
b. The energy stored in the capacitor, U.
c. The magnitude of the electric field between the plates, ∣ E ->∣.
d. The voltage drop across the capacitor, ΔVC
e. All of the above choices are correct.

Answer:

a. The capacitance of the capacitor, C.

Explanation:

Applying Gauss´Law to a closed surface enclosing one of the capacitor plates, it can be showed that the capacitance of a parallel plates capacitor, depends only on his geometry and the dielectric material between plates, as follows:

C = εo A / d, where d is the distance between plates.

If d is reduced to d/2, we can see that it produces as a net effect, to double the capacitance value.

PLEASE HELPPPP ❗️❗️❗️
mojhsa [17]

Answer:

Explanation:

There are 3 main forces at work here, gravity, normal and friction. The gravity pulls the car straight down and is what keeps the car on the ground. Normal force is straight up from the points where the car is touching, so since the wheels are the only parts of the car touching the street, this is where all the normal force is. Friction force opposes any and all motion, the car wants to slide down the hill and would slide down the hill if there was no friction, so the friction force is in the opposite direction of the cars intended motion.

SOVA2 [1]
1. Some stars are bigger than others, some are different colors or temperatures. It all really depends on the age of the star.

2. Four differences could be:

   1) Outer planets are much farther away from the sun, so they get less sunlight than inner planets.
   2) Also, the outer planets are all gas giants (excluding Pluto), while inner planets are all rocky planets.
   3) Inner planets also have a much higher density than outer planets.
   4) Outer planets also tend to have many more moons than inner planets (such as Jupiter, with 63 known moons).

3. The barrier that separates the inner from the outer planets is a ring of space rocks known as the Asteroid Belt.

A comet is a ball of ice that orbits a star in a wide elliptical orbit.
An asteroid is a large rocky body that orbits a star, and could be anywhere in size from 600 miles across to tiny dust particles.
A meteoroid is a small object floating through space freely (not necessarily bound in any orbit) that is usually made of a rocky or metallic material.

4. Day and night are caused by the earth's rotation on its axis. Night is relative to the observer, and occurs when the observer is on the side opposite that on which the sun is shining.

Hope that helped =)

Describe a situation in which you exert a force on something and it does not move. Identify the action force and the reaction fo
goldfiish [28.3K]

Answer:

Please find the answer in the explanation.

Explanation:

To describe a situation in which you exert a force on something and it does not move, you need to Identify the action force and the reaction force, the relative size of the forces, and the objects they act on.

The magnitude of the static friction between the object and the ground is larger than the magnitude of the force applied.

The object will not move if the magnitude of the static friction is greater than the magnitude of the force applied.

The action force is the force applied while the reaction force is equal to the frictional force between the object and the ground.
