Answer:

The acceleration of bicyclist is greater than that of the runner.

Explanation:

It is given that,

Initial speed of both bicyclist and a runner is 0 as they both are waiting at a red light,

When the light turns green they start to speed up.

Final speed of the bicyclist is 20 mph in 5 seconds

The runner gets to a final speed of 11 mph in 3 seconds.

20 mph = 8.94 m/s

11 mph = 4.91 m/s

Acceleration of bicyclist is :

a_b=\dfrac{v}{t}\\\\a_b=\dfrac{8.94\ m/s}{5\ s}\\\\a_b=1.78\ m/s^2

Acceleration of runner is :

a_r=\dfrac{v}{t}\\\\a_r=\dfrac{4.91\ m/s}{3\ s}\\\\a_r=1.63\ m/s^2

It is clear that the acceleration of bicyclist is greater than that of the runner.

A little girl kicks a soccer ball. It goes 10 feet and comes back to her. How is this possible?
marta [7]
A classic puzzle...

She either kicked it at a wall <em>exactly</em><em /> 10 foot in front of her, where the ball rebounded off the wall.

Or, she kicked the ball straight up, vertically, at a <em>90 degree angle,</em> where due to the law of gravity, which states that anything that goes up must come down, when the soccer ball reaches exactly 10 feet, it falls back down.
(Note: This is nearly impossible to achieve -- exactly 10 feet.)

A light bulb operating at a voltage of 120 v has a resistance of 200 ω. what is the power?
cluponka [151]

The correct is 72 watt

We know that formula of power is P=\frac{v^{2} }{r}

so putting the value of Voltage and Resistance in Formula of power so we get

P=\frac{120^{2} }{200} =72

What is Power?

Electric power is the rate at which an electric circuit transfers electrical energy per unit time.

Typically, electricity is generated by generators, but it can also be supplied by sources such as electric batteries. The electric power industry typically distributes it via an electric power grid to businesses and homes (as domestic mains electricity).

Transmission lines allow electric power to be delivered over long distances and used for high-efficiency applications such as motion, light, or heat.  Electric charges are converted to other forms of energy when they pass through an electric potential difference (voltage).
