A closely wound rectangular coil of 80 turns has dimensions of 25.0 cm by 40.0 cm. The plane of the coil is rotated from a posit

ion where it makes an angle of 37.0° with a magnetic field of 1.30 T to a position perpendicular to the field. The rotation takes 0.0800 s.What is the average emf EMF induced in the coil?

Answer:

Induced emf will be equal to 51.76 volt

Explanation:

We have given number of turns N = 80

Dimension of rectangular coil is 25 cm by 40 cm

So area of rectangular coil A=0.25\times 0.40=0.1m^2

Change in magnetic dB=B(1-cos(90^{\circ}-37^{\circ}))=1.30\times 0.9381=0.5176T

Change in time is given dt = 0.08 sec

Induced emf is given by e=N\frac{d\Phi }{dt}=NA\frac{dB}{dt}=80\times 0.1\times \frac{0.5176}{0.08}=51.76volt

So induced emf will be equal to 51.76 volt

Describe the basis concept of the atwood’s machine
Ann [662]

Answer:The Atwood Machine is a device that demonstrates the basic principles of acceleration and dynamics. You'll mostly see Atwood machines in Physics laboratories and classrooms. It consists of two objects with different masses that hang vertically from a frictionless pulley that has a very small, negligible mass.

When is thermal equilibrium achieved between two objects
melisa1 [442]

Answer:

when the temperatures of the two objects are equal

Explanation:

Thermal equilibrium is achieved between two objects when the temperatures of the two objects are equal. Heat flows from hot to cold objects. When the two objects attain equal temperatures, we say thermal equilibrium has been achieved

Discuss the phase change condition due to reflection of light from a surface. Summarize equations of interference for thin film.
Dmitrij [34]

Answer:

if this surface has a higher index than in the medium where the light travels, the reflected wave has a phase change of 180º

Explanation:

When a ray of light falls on a surface if this surface has a higher index than in the medium where the light travels, the reflected wave has a phase change of 180º this can be explained by Newton's third law, the light when arriving pushes the atoms of the medium that is more dense, and these atoms respond with a force of equal magnitude, but in the opposite direction.

When the fractional index is lower than that of the medium where the reflacted beam travels, notice a change in phase.

Also, when light penetrates the medium, it modifies its wavelength

              λ = λ₀ / n

We take these two aspects into account, the condition for contributory interference is

            d sin θ = (m + 1/2) λ

for destructive interference we have

            d sin θ = m λ

in general this phenomenon is observed at 90º

           2 d = (m +1/2) λ° / n

          2nd = (m + ½) λ₀
