Answer:

1) 1.39 * 10²³ atoms

2) 8.43 * 10²³ electrons

3) 9.73 * 10²³ neutrons

Explanation:

1) 13 g of C-13 contains 6.02 *10²³ atoms

3.00 g of C-13 will contain 6.02 * 10²³ * (3/13) = 1.39 * 10²³ atoms

2) Each atom of C-13 contains 6 electrons

Therefore 3.00 g of C-13 will contain 6 * 1.39 * 10²³  electrons = 8.43 * 10²³ electrons

3) Each atom of C-13 contains 7 neutrons

Therefore, 3.00 g of C-13 will contain 7 * 1.39 * 10²³ neutrons = 9.73 * 10²³ neutrons

P−aminobenzenesulfonic acid (sulfanilic acid) is normally written in the form shown but its zwitterionic form is more stable. wr
polet [3.4K]
Zwitterion is an ion consists of equal positive and negative charges on the same molecule which make it more stable and has high melting point
p-aminobenzene sulfonic acid contains both acidic (-SO₃H) and basic groups (NH₂), the acidic group will lose one proton to give (-SO₃⁻) and the basic group will gain this proton to give (-NH₃⁺)

When pellets of NaOH(s) are added to a flask of water, it is observed that the temperature of the water increases as the pellets
Nataly [62]

Answer: It is an exothermic process because heat energy is absorbed by the water as the NaOH(s) dissolves in it.

Explanation:

Endothermic reaction : It is a type of chemical reaction where the energy is absorbed from the surrounding. In the endothermic reaction, the reactant are less than the energy of product. In endothermic reaction, the change in enthalpy is, positive

Exothermic reaction : It is a type of chemical reaction where the energy is released into the surrounding. In the exothermic reaction, the energy of reactant are more than the energy of product. In exothermic reaction, the change in enthalpy is, negative.

Thus as energy is absorbed by water, which has been released by NaOH, the process is exothermic.

24.3 2 An artifact classified as seeds, found in a site at Newlands Cross, Ireland, is found to have a 14C radioactivity of 0.10
Rina8888 [55]

Answer:

Age ≅ 7500 years

Explanation:

All radioactive decay is 1st order kinetics and described by the expression

A = A₀e^-kt => t = ln(A/A₀) / -k

k = 0.693 / t(half life) = (0.693 / 5730)yrs⁻¹ = 1.21 x 10⁻⁴ yrs⁻¹

t = Age = [ln(0.103/0.255) / - 1.21 x 10⁻⁴] yrs = 7500 years

Which statement describes an Arrhenius acid? A. It is a proton donor. B. It is a proton acceptor. C. It produces hydroxide ions
Katen [24]
Hello.

The answer is: D it produces hyrogen ions in a solution.

This is correct because when Arrhenius acid it turns into hydrogen ions.substance as an acid if it produces hydrogen ions H(+) or hydronium ions in water. A substance is classified as a base if it produces hydroxide ions OH(-) in water.
