A Dodge Stealth is driving at 70 mph on a highway. It passes a BMW going the same direction. The BMW is moving 7 mph backward relative the Dodge. 63 mph is the velocity of the BMW

Answer: Option A

<u>Explanation:</u>

Given is the speed of the dodge stealth as 70 mph passing by the BMW moving with 7 mph relative to Dodge. Thereby, to calculate the velocity of BMW, relative velocity concept has to be employed.

As we know that the relative velocity tells us about relative velocity of mobile reference system as the difference or sum of the initial reference system.

Therefore,

velocity of the BMW =  v_{b}

Velocity of the dodge = v_{d}

Velocity of the BMW with respect to dodge = V_{b d}

As per the formula,

                     v_{b d}=v_{b}-v_{d}

        v_{b} = v_{d} + v_{b d} = 70 + (-7) = 70 - 7 = 63 \mathrm{mph}

17. Which of the following is the closest weight in newtons of a 7.0-kilogram
marusya05 [52]

Weight = (mass) x (gravity)

Weight = (7.0 kg) x (gravity)

On Earth, where (gravity) is roughly 10 N/kg . . .

Weight = (7.0 kg) x (roughly 10 N/kg)

Weight = roughly 70 Newtons

That's <em>B </em>on Earth.

It would be some other number on other bodies.

You are traveling at 14 m/s for 20 seconds. What is your displacement?
enyata [817]

Velocity = 14 m/s

Time = 20 s

Displacement = Velocity×Time = (14×20) m = 280 m

The displacement is 280 m towards the direction of motion.

Which of the following is not a colligative property? a. osmotic pressure b. lattice energy c. vapor-pressure lowering d. boilin
Gre4nikov [31]

Answer:

b) lattice energy

Explanation:

A solution is said to have colligative property when the property depends on the solute present in the solution.

Colligative property depend upon on the solute particle or the ion concentration not on the identity of solute.

osmotic pressure, vapor pressure lowering , boiling point elevation and freezing point lowering all depend upon solute concentration so they will not have colligative property so, the answer remains option 'b' which is lattice energy.
