Step-by-step explanation: When the a number is either added or subtracted  on the <em>inside </em>(will be surrounded by parentheses if it is on the inside) the parent function is moved right and left. Since it is inside parentheses, though, everything that happens will be the opposite of what it shows. Even though it says -7, and you would assume it shifts left, it doesn't. It actually goes to the right.
