The object's mass is irrelevant.
The acceleration due to Earth's gravity is inversely proportional to the square of the object's distance from the center of the Earth.

Discuss the advantages and disadvantages of series circuits compared to parallel circuits. Give an example of where each type of
Murljashka [212]

Advantage of series circuit :

1. allows all the components in the circuit to have same current flowing through them.

2. one switch is enough to turn off all the components in the circuit in series.

3. make the circuit small by using smaller length of wire.

Disadvantages of series circuit :

1. If one component becomes defective , it does not allow other components to operate, since they share same current.

2. all components can not have same voltage across them.

A standard 12 V car battery has an ampere-hour rating of 40 Ah, whereas a heavy-duty battery has a rating of 60 Ah. How would yo
stiv31 [10]

Answer:

Explanation:

Ah is a unit of charge .

A battery with 12 V and charge capacity of 40 Ah will have energy content

= volt x charge

volt = 12 V

Charge = 40 Ah

= 40 x 60 x 60 A.s

= 144000 coulomb

energy  content = 12 x 144000

= 1728000 J

energy content of heavy duty battery

= 12 x 60 x 60 x 60

= 2592000 J

Ratio = 1728000 / 2592000

= 2 / 3

Current can not be compared as current depends upon the resistance of appliance used . As resistance of appliance is unknown , current can not be compared.

A 3.10-mm-long, 430 kgkg steel beam extends horizontally from the point where it has been bolted to the framework of a new build
Alex17521 [72]

Answer:

Explanation:

Given that,

The length of the beam L = 3.10m

The mass of the steam beam m_1 = 430kg

The mass of worker m_2 = 69.0kg

The distance from  the fixed point to centre of gravity of beam = \frac{L}{2}

and our length of beam is 3.10m

so the distance from  the fixed point to centre of gravity of beam is

\frac{3.10}{2}=1.55m

Then the net torque is

=-W_sL'-W_wL\\\\=-(W_sL'+W_wL)

W_s is the weight of steel rod

=430\times9.8=4214N

W_w is the weight of the worker

=69\times9.8\\\\=676.2N

Torque can now be calculated

-(4214\times1.55+676.2\times3.9)Nm\\\\-(6531.7+2637.18)Nm\\\\-(9168.88)Nm

≅ 9169Nm

<h3>Therefore,the magnitude of the torque is 9169Nm</h3>

A traveling electromagnetic wave in a vacuum has an electric field amplitude of 93.3 V/m. Calculate the intensity S of this wave
7nadin3 [17]

Answer:

Intensity = 11.56W/m²

The energy flowing through the given area is 4.55 J

Explanation:

The expression for the intensity of the electromagnetic wave is,

I = \frac{1}{2} C{ {\varepsilon _0}E_m^2

Here,\varepsilon _0 is the permittivity of the free space,

E_m  is the electric field amplitude and

c is the speed of the light.

substitute

⁸m/s for c

8.85×10  −12  C² /N⋅m² for {\varepsilon _0}

and 93.3 V/m for {E_{\rm{m}

I = \frac{1}{2} \times (3\times10^8)\times(8.85\times10^-^1^2)(93.3)\\\\I = 11.56W/m^2

The expression for the energy is,

E = I×A×t

Here, I is the intensity of the electromagnetic wave,

A is the area, and

t is the time.

Substitute

11.56W/m² for I

0.0287m ² for A

13.7s for t

E = (11.56)\times(0,0287)\times(13.7)\\E = 4.55J

The energy flowing through the given area is 4.55 J

The closest star to our solar system is Alpha Centauri, which is 4.12 × 10^16 m away. How long would it take light from Alpha Ce
bonufazy [111]

Time = (distance) / (speed)

Time = (4.12x10^16 m) / (3 x10^8 m/s)

Time = 1.37 x 10^8 seconds

Divide the seconds by 86,400 to get days. Then divide the days by 365 to get years.

Time = about 4.35 years
