Answer:

2D structure is based on skeletal formula and

3D structure is based on ball and rod model

Explanation:

Please find the attached image of 2 D and 3 D structure of cis-4-nonene

The 2D structure of Cis-4 nonene  resembles the shape of skeletal formula. Almost every organic molecule has notation of skeletal formula. Each carbon atom is connected to sufficient number of hydrogen atom so that the valence of each carbon atom is satisfied.

The carbon atom is located at the corner while the hydrogen atom are not indicated.

The three dimensional structure of Cis-4 nonene   is based on stick and ball model where ball represents the various types of atoms and the rod length  represents the bond. White ball represents the hydrogen atom and grey ball represents the carbon atoms.

Which represents the correct electron distribution of a transition element in the ground state?
Phoenix [80]
I believe both C) and D) are correct, because both have enough electrons to show that the element has enough protons to be a transition metal, and both elements seem to have an electron configuration that exists in the ground state. We may need more information.

Match each substance with the correct designation for the equation HSO3- + CH3NH2 <=> SO32- + CH3NH3+ HSO3- CH3NH2 SO32- C
Zanzabum

Answer:

HSO_3^-: conjugate acid of SO_3^{2-}

CH_3NH_2 : conjugate base of CH_3NH_3^+

SO_3^{2-} : conjugate base of HSO_3^-

CH_3NH_3^+ : conjugate acid of CH_3NH_2

Explanation:

According to the Bronsted-Lowry conjugate acid-base theory, an acid is defined as a substance which looses donates protons and thus forming conjugate base and a base is defined as a substance which accepts protons and thus forming conjugate acid.

HSO_3^-+CH_3NH_2\rightleftharpoons SO_3^{2-}+CH_3NH_3^+

Here in forward reaction CH_3NH_2 is accepting a proton, thus it is considered as a base and after accepting a proton, it forms CH_3NH_3^+ which is a conjugate acid.

And HSO_3^-  is losing a proton, thus it is considered as an acid and after loosing a proton, it forms SO_3^{2-} which is a conjugate base.

Similarly in the backward reaction, CH_3NH_3^+ is loosing a proton, thus it is considered as a acid and after loosing a proton, it forms CH_3NH_2 which is a conjugate base.

And SO_3^{2-}  is accepting a proton, thus it is considered as a base and after accepting a proton, it forms HSO_3^{-} which is a conjugate acid.

3. Students measured the mass of the reactants and products for a combustion reaction they observed.
coldgirl [10]

Answer:

A. Students made a measurement error, because ending with more products is impossible.

Explanation:

The law of conversation of matter tells us that in a chemical reaction, matter is never created or destroyed, it's simply converted from one form to another. So the mass of reactants should always equal the mass of the products in a chemical reaction. If there is excess mass in the product, the students have made an error of some kind.
