<u>Answer:</u>

"The momentum of objects depends upon how much volume they occupy" is FALSE.

<u>Explanation:</u>

The quantity of movement by a body is estimated as a function of its mass and velocity.The quantity of momentum an object can have it depends on two variables i.e how much mass moves and how quickly the mass moves. In simple it is dependent on mass and velocity.

There is a difference between mass and volume, as mass is the quantity of matter an object contains while volume is space occupied by mass. For an instance, the bowling ball have more momentum than a basketball, because bowling ball have much more mass and velocity than basketball, although both type of ball have approximately same volume.

<h2>Answers:</h2><h2 /><h2>a) Arrow B</h2><h2>b) Arrow E</h2>

Explanation:

Refraction is a phenomenon in which a wave (the light in this case) bends or changes its direction <u>when passing through a medium with a refractive index different from the other medium.</u>  Where the Refractive index is a number that describes how fast light propagates through a medium or material.

According to this, if we observe the rays  A an D passing throgh the biconcave lens, we will have two mediums:

1) The air

2)The material of the biconcave lens

This two mediums have different refractive indexes, hence the rays will change the direction.

-For the incident ray A, the corresponding refractive ray is B, because is the ray that bends after passing throgh the lens

-For the incident ray D, the refracted ray is E following the same principle.

What is the energy released in this B- nuclear reaction 2K-&gt; 2Ca0,e? (The atomic mass of 42 K is 41.962403 u and that of 42Ca
Katyanochek1 [597]

<u>Answer:</u> The energy released in the given nuclear reaction is 3.526 MeV.

<u>Explanation:</u>

For the given nuclear reaction:

_{19}^{42}\textrm{K}\rightarrow _{20}^{42}\textrm{Ca}+_{-1}^{0}\textrm{e}

We are given:

Mass of _{19}^{42}\textrm{K} = 41.962403 u

Mass of _{20}^{42}\textrm{Ca} = 41.958618 u

To calculate the mass defect, we use the equation:

\Delta m=\text{Mass of reactants}-\text{Mass of products}

Putting values in above equation, we get:

\Delta m=(41.962403-41.958618)=0.003785u

To calculate the energy released, we use the equation:

E=\Delta mc^2\\E=(0.003785u)\times c^2

E=(0.003785u)\times (931.5MeV) (Conversion factor: 1u=931.5MeV/c^2 )

E=3.526MeV

Hence, the energy released in the given nuclear reaction is 3.526 MeV.
