Hercules X-1 is a pulsating X-ray source. The X-rays from this source sometimes completely disappear for 6 hours every 1.7 days

because the neutron star has a 1.7-day orbital period around its companion star, and it is eclipsed for ____ hours once every orbital period.

Answer:

06 Hours

Explanation:

As per the details given in the question it self, the neutron star X-1 is revolving around its companion star. The orbital period is 1.7 years which means it will complete the revolution in 1.7 years. During the movement in the orbit we will be able to detect the x-rays except for the time when it goes behind the companion star and eclipsed by it as seen from Earth.

Since the x-rays disappear completely for around 6 hours. This clearly means that eclipse period is 06 hours.

At the presentation ceremony, a championship bowler is presented a 1.64-kg trophy which he holds at arm's length, a distance of
solong [7]

To solve the problem it is necessary to take into account the concepts of the kinetic equations for the description of the torque at the rate of force and distance.

By definition the torque is given by,

\tau = F*d

where,

F= Force

d = Distance

For the problem in question the mass of the trophy is 1.64Kg and the distance of the tropeo to the board (the shoulder) is 0.655m

PART A) For part A, the torque with the given mass and the stipulated torque in the horizontal plane must be calculated as well,

\tau = F*d

For Newton's second law

\tau = mg*d

\tau = 1.64*9.81*0.655

\tau = 10.5Nm

PART B) For part B there is an angle of 26 degrees with respect to the horizontal, therefore to know the net torque it is necessary to know the horizontal component to the formed angle, that is,

\tau = F*dcos\theta

\tau = mgdcos\theta

\tau = 1.64*9.81*0.655*cos26

\tau = 9.471Nm

By what factor must we increase the amplitude of vibration of an object at the end of a spring in order to double its maximum sp
strojnjashka [21]

Answer:

A'=2A

Explanation:

According to the law of conservation of energy, the total energy of the system can be expresed as the sum of the potential energy and kinetic energy:

E=U+K=\frac{kA^2}{2}\\E=\frac{kx^2}{2}+\frac{mv^2}{2}=\frac{kA^2}{2}

When the spring is in its equilibrium position, that is x=0, the object speed its maximum. So, we have:

\frac{k(0)^2}{2}+\frac{mv_{max}^2}{2}=\frac{kA^2}{2}\\A^2=\frac{mv_{max}^2}{k}\\A=\sqrt{\frac{mv_{max}^2}{k}}

In order to double its maximum speed, that is v'{max}=2v_{max}. We have:

A'=\sqrt{\frac{m(v'_{max})^2}{k}}\\A'=\sqrt{\frac{m(2v_{max})^2}{k}}\\A'=\sqrt{\frac{4mv_{max}^2}{k}}\\A'=2\sqrt{\frac{mv_{max}^2}{k}}\\A'=2A

HYDROGEN GAS + OXYGEN GAS= HYDROGEN PEROXIDE                                  H2+O2=H2O2                                                                                                                      HYDROGEN PEROXIDE IS A LIQUID BECAUSE HYDROGEN PEROXIDE CAN NEVER BE A SOLID BECAUSE TWO LIQUIDS CAN NEVER FORM A GAS IT IS IMPOSSIBLE NO MATTER THE CONDITION
