Peak usage times, the more applicances that are used, the larger the pull and demand for energy. Therefore creating a larger load. Which in term causes more energy to be used. Hope that helped

A damping force affects the vibration of a spring so that the displacement of the spring is given by y = e−4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t)
astraxan [27]

Answer:

Average velocity = dy/dt = 4sin2t(2t+3)-4cos2t(6t+1)e^-4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t).

Explanation:

Velocity is defined as the rate of change in displacement.

Velocity = change in displacement/time taken

Given the displacement of the string as;

y = e^−4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t).

To get the average velocity, we will find the derivative of the displacement with respect to time.

Using function of a function to solve this;

Let u = 4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t)... (1)

y = e^-u... (2)

Differentiating both functions with respect to their variables we have;

dy/du = -e^-u

du/dt is gotten using the product rule to have;

du/dt = 4t(-2sin2t+6cos2t)+4(cos2t+3sin2t)

Opening up the bracket we have;

du/dt = -8tsin2t+24tcos2t+4cos2t+12sin2t

Collecting like terms;

-8tsin2t+12sin2t+24tcos2t+4cos2t

du/dt = -4sin2t(2t-3)+4cos2t(6t+1)

dy/dt = dy/du × du/dt

dy/dt = -e^-u × -4sin2t(2t+3)+4cos2t(6t+1)

Substituting u = 4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t) into dy/dt, we will have;

dy/dt = -e^-4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t) × -4sin2t(2t+3)+4cos2t(6t+1)

dy/dt = 4sin2t(2t+3)-4cos2t(6t+1)e^-4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t).

The average velocity of the wave function therefore give us;

dy/dt = 4sin2t(2t+3)-4cos2t(6t+1)e^-4t(cos 2t + 3 sin 2t).

A periodic wave travels from one medium to another. Which pair of variables are likely to change in the process?
Travka [436]

A  velocity and wavelength

Explanation:

When a periodic wave travels from one medium to another, its velocity and wavelength changes in the process.

A periodic wave is a wave with repeating pattern.

  • When a wave crosses different medium with different densities, their velocity and wavelength changes.
  • This implies that wave causes disturbances in different ways.
  • This change in wavelength and velocity as a wave crosses two medium is known as refraction.
  • When a wave moves from a less dense medium to a denser one, the velocity reduces and the wavelength increases.

If a car is driving at 10 m/s and is driving for 2 minutes, what is the total distance it will
kondor19780726 [428]

Distance = (speed) x (time)

Distance = (10 meter/second) x (2 minutes)

Distance = (10 meter/second) x (2 minutes) x (60 second/minute)

Distance = (10 x 2 x 60) (meter-minute-second / second-minute)

<em>Distance = 1,200 meters</em>

PLLLZ HELP Which of the following is a seamount?
o-na [289]

1. The seamount of the following given option is option D, i.e. Loihi.

2. Hawaii would be the location for the most active volcano according to the picture given.

Answer: Option D and Option B

<u>Explanation:</u>

1. Loihi is a seamount, which is a uplifted mountain risen to a certain altitude from the oceanic floor, but has no connection with the sea floor and hence do not come into the purview of being an island. sea mount are thus known as the submarine peak.

2. According to the diagram given, active site for volcano is Hawaii. the reason being that the hot spot for the volcanic activity is found beneath the Hawaiin island, whose tremendous stress is experienced below the fault line of Hawaii making it the most active site for volcano as per the seismological findings.
