Deep-ocean lantern fish have special organs that use chemical energy to produce light. However, the light can only travel a cert

ain distance through the water before it is no longer visible. How does this phenomenon validate the Law of Conservation of Energy?
The fish is a closed system, so energy is allowed to exit the system.
The Law of Conservation of Energy applies to biological, not physical, systems.
The light energy travels through the water until it is reflected or absorbed.
The light is not carried by matter and contains no energy.

I believe the correct answer from the choices listed above is the third option. This phenomenon validate the Law of Conservation of Energy by the statement that says the light energy travels through the water until it is reflected or absorbed. Hope this answers the question.

Answer:

The correct answer is that the light energy travels through the water until it is reflected or absorbed.

Explanation:

The law of conservation of energy is illustrated as the form of energy that cannot be destroyed or produced, however, it gets transformed from one form to another. In case of Deep Ocean lantern fish that generates light in water, which travels along certain distance and then moves back, that is, in the reverse direction. This happens as the light travels in waves and when it comes in contact with the waves, it either gets absorbed or is reflected back.

Explain the leaching of plant nutrition
Komok [63]

Answer:

In agriculture, leaching is the loss of water-soluble plant nutrients from the soil, due to rain and irrigation. ... As water from rain, flooding, or other sources seeps into the ground, it can dissolve chemicals and carry them into the underground water supply.

A community lives in the desert near an area with high winds. There is very little rainfall or clouds, and no large rivers nearb
amid [387]

Solar power would, without doubt, be the most efficient type of power plant to build in this specific location. This is due to the fact that solar power produces no pollution in an environment. Also this type of alternative energy fits this communities resources due to the fact that the community receives primarily sun , a huge component in solar power, and little cloud coverage only increases the sun's power that much more. On the other hand, biomass needs things like wood, crops and alcohol fuels to burn in order to produce energy, some of which are not viable in this type of community because a place with little to no irrigation sources and an abundant amount of sunlight would be hard to produce any kind of natural aspect. Lastly, hydroelectric energy would not be a efficient of even viable choice because this community has no natural water available at hand to use for this alternative energy to function, and hydroelectric works primarily on a water storage.

Bacteria convert atmospheric nitrogen to which of the following in the process of nitrogen fixation?
DiKsa [7]

Q1) Bacteria are capable of converting atmospheric N in the form of N2 gas to NH3. this process is known as nitrogen fixation. N2 in the atmospheric form is not usable by other organisms, therefore specialised bacteria such as Azetobacter species are capable of carrying out this conversion from N2 gas into NH3 form that can be used by other organisms

Q2) Condensation.

Water in the gaseous state or known as vapour state converted to liquid state, process is known as condensation. in condensation the particles in water become more tightly packed and heat energy is removed from these particles reducing their kinetic energy thus becoming liquid state

Q3)

Transpiration declines

Deforestation is when the number of trees and plants have been cut down therefore numbers have reduced drastically, transpiration is the process in which water is transported through the plant and lost to the environment through evaporation. When the trees and plants have reduced the water lost by way of transpiration is also reduced. This impacts the water cycle as the number of water being cycled in the environment is lesser now.

Q4) the sun

sun is the major source of energy that facilitates the recycling of water in the water cycle. The sun causes water to be evaporated from water bodies and converted to water vapour. This water vapour is then recycled.

Q5) Plants can’t use Nitrogen in the form of N2

N is an essential element needed by plants, however plants cannot use up the atmospheric N2 gas. therefore bacteria are capable of nitrogen fixation that converts N2 gas into forms that can be used up and absorbed by the plants from soil.
