A girl and boy pull in opposite directions on a stuffed animal. The girl exerts a force of 3.5 N. The mass of the stuffed animal

is 0.2 kg, and it is accelerating to the right 2.5 m/s2. What is the force that the boy is exerting?

The resultant force on the animal = Resultant mass * total acceleration
F = 0.2 * 2.5 to the right
F = 0.5 to the right.

As, girl exerting a force of 3.5 N & it's not mentioned that she is in right or left, so the force exerting by boy would be either:
3.5-0.5 = 3  OR  3.5+0.5 = 4

If boy exerting a greater force then, answer will be 4 N & if girl exerting a greater force the, answer will be 3 N

Hope this helps!

The correct answer is 4.

2.5 x .2 = .5

3.5N + .5N = 4N

A car moves along a curved road of diameter 2 km. If the maximum velocity for safe driving on this path is 30 m/s, at what angle
Leto [7]
The maximum velocity in a banked road, ignoring friction, is given by;

v = Sqrt (Rg tan ∅), where R = Radius of the curved road = 2*1000/2 = 1000 m, g = gravitational acceleration = 9.81 m/s^2, ∅ = Angle of bank.

Substituting;
30 m/s = Sqrt (1000*9.81*tan∅)
30^2 = 1000*9.81*tan∅
tan ∅ = (30^2)/(1000*9.81) = 0.0917
∅ = tan^-1(0.0917) = 5.24°

Therefore, the road has been banked at 5.24°.

A 6kg sled sliding on an icy surface experiences a 6-N frictional force exerted by the ice and the air resistive force of 0.6 N.
White raven [17]

The net force on the sled is 6.6 N pointing backwards, opposite to the direction it's sliding. That's why it's slowing down, and will eventually stop.
