Answer:

(a).The speed of the water in the nozzle is 3.014 m/s.

(b). The pressure in the nozzle is 1.86 atm.

Explanation:

Given that,

Nozzle diameter = 0.25 in = 0.00635 m

Hose pipe diameter = 0.64 in = 0.016256 m

Pressure = 1.9 atm =192518 Pa

(a). We need to calculate the speed of the water in the nozzle

Flow Speed at the inlet pipe will be given by using Continuity Equation

Q_{1}=Q_{2}

v_{1}A_{1}=v_{2}A_{2}

v_{1}=v_{2}\times(\dfrac{A_{2}}{A_{1}})

Where, A = area of pipe

A=\pi\times \dfrac{d^2}{4}

v_{1}=v_{2}\times(\dfrac{d_{2}^2}{d_{1}^2})

Put the value into the formula

v_{1}=0.46\times\dfrac{(0.016256)^2}{(0.00635)^2}

v_{1}=3.014\ m/s

The speed of the water in the nozzle is 3.014 m/s.

(b). We need to calculate the pressure in the nozzle

Using Bernoulli's Theorem,

P_{1}+\dfrac{1}{2}\rho\times v_{1}^2+\rho gh_{1}=P_{2}+\dfrac{1}{2}\rho\times v_{2}^2+\rho gh_{2}

Where, h_{1}=h_{2}

P_{1}+\dfrac{1}{2}\rho\times v_{1}^2=P_{2}+\dfrac{1}{2}\rho\times v_{2}^2

P_{1}=P_{2}+\dfrac{1}{2}\rho(v_{2}^2-v_{1}^2)

Put the value into the formula

P_{1}=192518 +\dfrac{1}{2}\times1000\times((0.46)^2-(3.014)^2)

P_{1}=188081.702\ Pa

P=1.86\ atm

Hence, (a).The speed of the water in the nozzle is 3.014 m/s.

(b). The pressure in the nozzle is 1.86 atm.

A track coach records how long it takes a sprinter to run 100 meters the track coach is recording what dimension of behavior
melamori03 [73]
Behavior has at least six dimensions, which are: frequency, duration, latency, topography, locus, and force. Since the coach is recording how long it takes, the track coach is recording the duration behavior because duration is a synonym for time. Duration is your answer.

In April 1974, Steve Prefontaine completed a 10 km race in a time of 27 min, 43.6 s. Suppose "Pre" was at the 8.13 km mark at a
SOVA2 [1]

Answer:0.084 m/s^2

Explanation:

Given

Total time=27 min 43.6 s=1663.6 s

total distance=10 km

Initial distance d_1=8.13 km

time taken=25 min =1500 s

initial speed v_1=\frac{8.13\times 1000}{25\times 60}=5.6 m/s

after 8.13 km mark steve started to accelerate

speed after 60 s

v_2=v_1+at

v_2=5.6+a\times 60

distance traveled in 60 sec

d_2=v_1\times 60+\frac{a60^2}{2}

d_2=336+1800 a

time taken in last part of journey

t_3=1663.6-1560=103.6 s

distance traveled in this time

d_3=v_2\times t_3

d_3=\left ( 5.6+a\times 60\right )103.6

and total distance=d_1+d_2+d_3

10000=8.13\times 1000+336+1800 a+\left ( 5.6+a\times 60\right )103.6

1870=336+1800 a+\left ( 5.6+a\times 60\right )103.6

a=0.084 m/s^2

Find the moments of inertia Ix, Iy, I0 for a lamina that occupies the part of the disk x2 y2 ≤ 36 in the first quadrant if the d
Tasya [4]

Answer:

I(x)  = 1444×k ×{\pi}

I(y)  = 1444×k ×{\pi}

I(o) = 3888×k ×{\pi}

Explanation:

Given data

function =  x^2 + y^2 ≤ 36

function =  x^2 + y^2 ≤ 6^2

to find out

the moments of inertia Ix, Iy, Io

solution

first we consider the polar coordinate (a,θ)

and polar is directly proportional to a²

so p = k × a²

so that

x = a cosθ

y = a sinθ

dA = adθda

so

I(x) = ∫y²pdA

take limit 0 to 6 for a and o to \pi /2 for θ

I(x) = \int_{0}^{6}\int_{0}^{\pi/2} y²p dA

I(x) = \int_{0}^{6}\int_{0}^{\pi/2} (a sinθ)²(k × a²) adθda

I(x) = k  \int_{0}^{6}a^(5)  da ×  \int_{0}^{\pi/2}  (sin²θ)dθ

I(x) = k  \int_{0}^{6}a^(5)  da ×  \int_{0}^{\pi/2}  (1-cos2θ)/2 dθ

I(x)  = k ({r}^{6}/6)^(5)_0 ×  {θ/2 - sin2θ/4}^{\pi /2}_0

I(x)  = k × ({6}^{6}/6) × (  {\pi /4} - sin\pi /4)

I(x)  = k ×  ({6}^{5}) ×   {\pi /4}

I(x)  = 1444×k ×{\pi}    .....................1

and we can say I(x) = I(y)   by the symmetry rule

and here I(o) will be  I(x) + I(y) i.e

I(o) = 2 × 1444×k ×{\pi}

I(o) = 3888×k ×{\pi}   ......................2
