Try using A=1/2bh
50 is the height in this but the base is confusing me, unless its 97 yards too, unlikely.

Which function is quadratic?
AveGali [126]

Answer:

g(x) is a quadratic function ⇒ 2

Step-by-step explanation:

  • The quadratic function is the function that has 2 as the greatest power of the variable
  • The form of the quadratic function is f(x) = ax² + bx + c, where a, b, and c are constant

Let us use the information above to solve the question

∵ f(x) = 1.5^{x}

∵ x is the exponent of the base 1.5

→ That means f(x) is not in the form of the quadratic function

∴ f(x) is not in the form of the quadratic function above

∴ f(x) does not represent a quadratic function

∴ f(x) is not a quadratic function

∵ g(x) = 500x² + 345x

∴ The greatest power of x is 2

→ That means g(x) is in the form of the quadratic function above

∵ g(x) is in the form of the quadratic function above, where a = 500,

   b = 345, and c = 0 (constant values)

∴ g(x) represents a quadratic function

∴ g(x) is a quadratic function

A square has a diagonal with the length of 8V7 inches. What is the length of the<br> sides?
Nikitich [7]

Answer:

approximately 13.9 inches

Step-by-step explanation:

That's 8√6, not 8V7.

The four sides are of the same length (x).  According to the Pythagorean Theorem, x² + x² = (diagonal length)² = (8√6)², or

2x² = 64(6) = 384

Dividing both sides by 2, we get:

x² = 192, or x² = 4(48).  Then the side length is x = √16√12, or

x = 4√4√3 = 8√3.  This is approximately 13.9 inches.

For the polynomial function ƒ(x) = x4 −25x2, find the zeros. Then determine the multiplicity at each zero and state whether the
AfilCa [17]

<u>ANSWER</u>

The zeros are x=-5,x=0,x=5

EXPLANATION

Given;

f(x)=x^4-25x^2.

We can rewrite the function as

f(x)=x^2(x^2-25)

\Rightarrow f(x)=x^2(x^2-5^2)

\Rightarrow f(x)=x^2(x-5)(x+5)

The zeros are found by equating the function to zero.

\Rightarrow x^2(x-5)(x+5)=0

\Rightarrow (x-5)=0

The multiplicity is 1, since it is odd the graph crosses at this intercept. which is x=5

Or

\Rightarrow (x+5)=0

The multiplicity is 1, since it is odd the graph crosses at this intercept. which is x=-5

Or

\Rightarrow x^2=0

This last root has a multiplicity of 2.

That is

x=0 repeats two times.

Since the multiplicity is even, the graph touches the x-axis at the point x=0.

See graph.
