M2 (mass of the cue ball) = 0.17kg

U1 (initial velocity of the cue ball) = 0m/s

Final velocities of both the cue ball and 3 billiard ball after collision = ?

According to the principle of conservation of linear momentum, total momenta before collision = total momenta after collision:

M1U1 + M2U2 = (M1+M2)V

0.16*4.0 + 0.17* 0 = (0.16 + 0.17)V

0.64 + 0 = 0.33V

V = 0.64/0.33 = 1.9394m/s
