How do you balance this Chemical Equation? <br>C5H12O + O2 = CO2 + H2O
ICE Princess25 [194]

Answer:

The chemical equation by putting, a 2 on C₅H₁₂O, 15 on O₂, 10 on CO₂ , and 12 on H₂O in the equation;

2C₅H₁₂O + 15O₂ → 10CO₂ + 12H₂O

Explanation:

  • Chemical equations are balanced by putting coefficients on the reactants and products to ensure the total number of atoms on the left side equal to those on the right side.
  • Balancing chemical equations is done to make chemical equations obey the law of conservation of mass.
  • According to the law of conservation of mass, the mass of the reactants should always be equal to the mass of products.
  • This is done by balancing chemical equations to ensure the total number of atoms on the left side is equal to that on the right side.
  • Therefore, the balanced equation is;

          2C₅H₁₂O + 15O₂ → 10CO₂ + 12H₂O

If an experiment calls for 0.200mole acetic acid (Hc2H3O2)how many grams of glacial acetic acid do we need?
bija089 [108]
<h3>Molar mass:-</h3>

\\ \sf\longmapsto HC_2H_3O_2

\\ \sf\longmapsto 1u+2(12u)+3(1u)+2(16u)

\\ \sf\longmapsto 1u+24u+3u+48u

\\ \sf\longmapsto 28u+48u

\\ \sf\longmapsto 76u

\\ \sf\longmapsto 76g/mol

  • No of moles=0.2mol
  • Given mass=?

\\ \sf\longmapsto No\:of\;moles=\dfrac{Given\:Mass}{Molar\:Mass}

\\ \sf\longmapsto 0.2=\dfrac{Given\:mass}{76}

\\ \sf\longmapsto Given\:Mass=0.2\times 76

\\ \sf\longmapsto Given\:Mass=1.52g

How many joules of heat are required to raise the temperature of 320.0 grams of water from 24.2°C to 50.8°C? Heat capacity of wa
balu736 [363]

Answer:

35750.4 Joules

Explanation:

Using the formula as follows;

Q = m × c × ∆T

Where;

Q = amount of heat (joules)

m = mass of substance (g)

c = specific heat capacity (J/g°C)

∆T = change in temperature (°C)

According to the provided information,

mass (m) = 320.0 grams

c = 4.2 J/g°C

∆T = (50.8°C - 24.2°C) = 26.6°C

Q = ?

Using; Q = m × c × ∆T

Q = 320 × 4.2 × 26.6

Q = 35750.4 J

Colors are in what part of the electromagnetic spectrum?
Drupady [299]

"As we move through the visible spectrum of violet, blue, green, yellow, orange and red, the wavelengths become longer. The range of wavelengths (400 - 700 nm) of visible light is centrally located in the electromagnetic spectrum (Fig. 1)."
