A marble or small sphere, made of stone, is found to have a mass of 3.05g. To find its volume it is placed in a gradulated cylin

dar that originally contains 10.00mL of water. When the marble is placed in hte gradulated cylindar, the new volume of the water and the marble together is 11.20mL. a:calculate the volume of the marble(be sure to include units) b:calculate the density of the marble.(be sure to include units)

a).
-- There were 10.00 mL of water in the graduated cylinder originally.
-- After the marble was added to the cylinder and sank, the total volume
of water and marble in the cylinder was 11.20 mL.
-- The extra 1.20 mL that suddenly showed up was the volume of the marble.
-- We can use  1 mL = 1 cm³ .
-- The volume of the marble was 1.20 cm³ .

b).
         Density = (mass) / (volume)
For the marble . . .
         Density = (3.05 g) / (1.20 cm³)  =  2.54  gm/cm³  (rounded)

A boy drops a coin down a well that is 225 m deep. How long does it take the coin to hit the bottom of the well? please help
Nady [450]
It takes 6.78 seconds for the coin to hit the bottom of the well. We can use the equation h = 0.5gt^2, where h is the height of the coin, g is the gravitational constant of 9.8m/s^2, and t is the time is takes for the coin to hit the bottom of the well. Solve for t to obtain 6.87 seconds.

A gas cylinder is filled with 4.00 moles of oxygen gas at 300.0 k. the piston is compressed to yield a pressure of 400.0 kpa. wh
Radda [10]
To answer this item, it is assumed that the gas in the cylinder is ideal such that it follows the equation,
                                        PV = nRT
when V is to be calculated,
                                              V = nRT/P
        V = (4)(0.0821 L.atm/molK)(300 K) / (400 kPa/101.325 kPa/atm)
                                                V = 24.95 L
Thus, the volume of gas in the cylinder is 24.95 L.
