The mean means that its the average of the numbers. So Jacob is wrong if he adds up all the tips. Because for the mean you add all the numbers then divide by how many numbers there are

Jacob is correct in thinking that because the mean represents the average of several quantities

The number of errors in a textbook follow a poisson distribution with a mean of 0.01 errors per page. what is the probability th
neonofarm [45]
Mean number of errors in each page = 0.01
Mean number of errors in 100 pages = 0.01*100=1

It is possible to use the cumulative distribution function (CMF), but the math is a little more complex, involving the gamma-function. Tables and software are available for that purpose.

Thus it is easier to evaluate with a calculator for the individual cases of k=0,1,2 and 3.

The Poisson distribution has a PMF (probability mass function)
P(k):=\frac{\lambda^ke^{-\lambda}}{k!}
with λ = 1
=>
P(0):=\frac{1^0e^{-1}}{0!}=0.3678794
P(1):=\frac{1^1e^{-1}}{1!}=0.3678794
P(2):=\frac{1^2e^{-1}}{2!}=0.1839397
P(3):=\frac{1^3e^{-1}}{3!}=0.0613132
=>
P(k
or
P(k<=3)=0.9810 (to four decimal places)

At the start of a month, Sasha and Natalia each have a certain amount of money.
Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

Option (A)

Step-by-step explanation:

Sasha has an amount of $400 and saves $20 per week.

If we graph the savings of Sasha, her savings per week will be defined by the slope of the line = $20 per week

Similarly, from the graph attached,

Slope of the line given in the graph = Per week savings of Natalia

Slope of line passing through (0, 190) and (2, 210) will be,

Slope = \frac{y_2-y_1}{x_2-x_1}

          = \frac{210-190}{2-0}

          = 10

Therefore, per week savings of Natalia = $10

Difference in savings of Sasha and Natalia = 20 - 10 = $10 per week

Here, Sasha shows the greater rate of change by $10 per week

Therefore, Option (A) will be the answer.
