Answer:

+ 0.617 v

Explanation:

Sn2+ (aq) + 2Fe3+ (aq) → 2Fe2+ (aq) + Sn4+ (aq)

half-life

Sn²⁺ → Sn⁴⁺ + 2e⁻    oxidation       E ox = -0.154 v

2 Fe³⁺ + 2e⁻ → 2 Fe ²⁺   reduction  E red = + 0.771 v

E° cell = E°red + E° ox = +0.77 v + (-0.154 v) = + 0.617 v

Compare and contrast synthesis reactions and decomposition reaction
Dafna11 [192]

Answer:

See explanation

Explanation:

Synthesis reaction and decomposition reactions are two opposing processes.

While a synthesis reaction has to do with the formation of a substance from its constituents, decomposition deals with the breakdown of a substance into its constituents.

While decomposition requires energy and is an endothermic process, synthesis is usually an exothermic process in which energy is given off as stable products are formed.

Calculate the Molecular or Formula massof each of the following:
DiKsa [7]

Explanation:

Molar mass

The mass present in one mole of a specific species .

The molar mass of a compound , can easily be calculated as the sum of the all the individual atom multiplied by the number of total atoms .

(a) P₄

Molar mass of of the atoms are -

Phosphorous , P = 31 g/mol

Molecular mass of  P₄ = ( 4 * 31 ) = 124 g/mol .

(b) H₂O

Molar mass of of the atoms are -

Hydrogen , H = 1 g/mol

oxygen , O = 16 g/mol.

Molecular mass of H₂O = ( 2 * 1 ) + ( 1 * 16 ) = 18 g/mol

(c) Ca(NO₃)₂

Molar mass of of the atoms are -

calcium , Ca = 40 g/mol

nitrogen, N = 14 g/mol

oxygen , O = 16 g/mol.

Molecular mass of  Ca(NO₃)₂ = ( 1 * 40 ) + ( 2 * 14 ) + ( 6 * 16 ) = 164 g/mol.

(d)CH₃CO₂H (acetic acid)

Molar mass of of the atoms are -

Carbon , C = 12 g/mol.

oxygen , O = 16 g/mol.

Hydrogen , H = 1 g/mol

Molecular mass of CH₃CO₂H =( 2 * 12 ) + (2 * 16 ) + (4 * 1 ) = 60 g/mol.

(e) C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ (sucrose, cane sugar).

Molar mass of of the atoms are -

Carbon , C = 12 g/mol.

oxygen , O = 16 g/mol.

Hydrogen , H = 1 g/mol

Molecular mass of C₁₂H₂₂O₁₁ = (12 * 12 ) + ( 22 * 1 ) + ( 11 * 16 ) = 342 g/mol.

Which object is accelerating?
Mamont248 [21]
Q. Which object is accelerating?

A: A skateboarder speeding up as he skates down a ramp.

The car is not accelerating as it is travelling at constant velocity. Acceleration refers to the rate of change of velocity of an object over time. Thus, there is no acceleration for the car.

The bicycle is not accelerating as it is decelerating (slowing down). This is not to be confused with accelerating in the opposite direction. Deceleration refers to the rate at which an object slows down. Deceleration is a scalar quantity whereas acceleration is a vector quantity. Yeah.

The final one isn't right, well, because the first two options are wrong.

So through process of elimination, you can deduce that the skateboarder experiences acceleration.

Also, the skateboarder experiences acceleration as he is "speeding up", implying that his speed is not constant and in fact increasing, so there's acceleration.
