Why is it important to hold a static stretch for at least 10–15 seconds? Include the physiology of the stretch reflex in your re
Sergio039 [100]

Static stretch

Explanation:

Static stretching exercises are done by elongating the target muscles as tolerated and then holding the stretch in that position for a stipulating length of time. This holding time period is usually determined by the individual’s age, activity level, any other previous illness or injuries etc.

The holding time usually is around 10-15 seconds is especially done to:

  1. Reduce risk of injury, muscle stiffness
  2. Increase mobility, flexibility, range of motion
  3. Relieve back or joint pains.

The main physiology in stretch reflex:

The stretch reflex is a myotatic reflex which is triggered by the action potentials of la afferent fibers. This causes the excited motor neurons to contract the stretched muscle which in turn reduces the potential.

The holding in static stretching is to make the elongation of the muscles a habitual length for the muscle spindle fibers and mark it is a new length.

The signals are reduced and the receptors are trained to allow more muscle fiber lengthening. The greatest increase in length or increase in range of motion occurs when the stretch is held for about 10-30 seconds with 2-4 repetitions.

Yuri [45]

Answer:

The correct answer will be-

1. Proteins

2. Nervous

3. transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.

4. Mad cow disease

5. Cow

6. Virus

Explanation:

Prions are the infectious particle composed of harmless proteins found in the brain of the animals like humans, cows which are responsible for the degeneration of the nervous tissues of the brain.

These proteins of the prions are resistant to the enzymatic actions and thus they can multiply and accumulate within the neurons and destroys them forming holes in the neurons giving the sponge-like appearance and thus disease is known as transmissible spongiform encephalopathies.

An example of this disease is mad cow disease which spreads from the cow to human by eating the meat of the cow especially brain contaminated with prions which are neither considered viruses nor cells.

Give an example of a conflict that would best be solved through mediation.
nirvana33 [79]

Answer:

meditation can solve many conflicts in life such as overwhelming anger, miscommunication, chaos, anxiety

Explanation:

if ur feeling angry, meditation can help u keep control over ur actions words and feelings rather than letting anger control them. stopping and thinking through meditation gives u the time to really say what u mean, and not let anger speak words for u.

if the frustration of miscommunication with other people takes a toll, stop and mediate. take the time to clear ur mind and think about what point ur ACTUALLY trying to get across to this person, think about HOW u can properly and respectfully get this point across without bringing negativity.

when feeling anxious, the deep breathing in meditation will really help you to ease this feeling <3
