A metal rod A and a metal sphere B, on insulating stands, touch each other. They are originally neutral. A positively charged ro
ryzh [129]

Answer:

The sphere is positively charged

Explanation:

This is because when the positively charged rod is brought near the metal rod A, the electrons in metal rod A and sphere B are attracted towards it into metal rod A while the positive charges in the are repelled into sphere B. So, when the charged rod is withdrawn, and metal rod A and sphere B are separated, metal rod A is now negatively charged, but sphere B is positively charged.

So, sphere B is positively charged.

A man with 60 years to live wants to visit a distant Galaxy which is 160,000 light years away. What must be his constant speed?
Assoli18 [71]

The man's constant speed is 2.99 x 10⁸ m/s.

What is speed of light?

The speed with which the light ray travels in a medium with negative pressure or in vacuum.

This speed is the greatest speed in the universe. No matter can have speed greater than the speed of light in vacuum.

Given is a man with 60 years to live wants to visit a distant Galaxy which is 160,000 light years away.

If a man travels with the speed of light, he needs 160000 years to reach the galaxy, but visits in 60 years.

According to the relativistic theory,

160000 = 60 /√[1 - (v² /c²)]

where v is constant speed need to find and c is the speed of light in vacuum = 3 x 10⁸ m/s

Substitute into the formula, we get

160000 = 60 /√[1 - (v² /(3 x 10⁸)²) ]

Simplifying further

v² /c² = (1 - 1.406 x 10⁻⁷ )

Then,

v/c = 0.999

v = 0.999 x 3 x 10⁸ m/s

v = 2.99 x 10⁸ m/s

Thus, the constant speed of the man is 2.99 x 10⁸ m/s.

Light-rail passenger trains that provide transportation within and between cities are capable of modest accelerations. The magni
Mkey [24]
During the first phase of acceleration we have:
v o = 4 m/s; t = 8 s; v = 13 m/s, a = ?
v = v o + a * t
13 m/s = 4 m / s + a * 8 s
a * 8 s = 9 m/s
a = 9 m/s : 8 s
a = 1.125 m/s²
The final speed:
v = ?; v o = 13 m/s; a = 1.125 m/s² ; t = 16 s
v = v o + a * t
v = 13 m/s + 1.125 m/s² * 16 s
v = 13 m/s + 18 m/s = 31 m/s
