Answer:

47.2 g of NaN3.

Explanation:

Equation of the reaction

2NaN3 --> 2Na + 3N2(g)

Molar mass of N2 = (14*2)

= 28 g/mol

Number of moles = mass*molar mass

= 30.5/28

= 1.09 moles of N2

Using stoichiometry, 2 moles of sodium azide decomposes to give 3 moles of nitrogen.

1.09 moles of N2 will give,

= 2/3 * 1.09

= 0.726 moles of NaN3

Molar mass of NaN3 = 23 + (14*3)

= 65 g/mol

Mass = number of moles * molar mass

= 65 * 0.726

= 47.2 g of NaN3

A redox reaction will occur at 298 K when zinc metal is placed in a solution that is 0.5M Fe(NO3)3. Is this true or False.
Anettt [7]

Answer:

True

Explanation:

Fe³⁺ is an oxidizing agent with E° = +0.77V. Zn metal is a reducing agent with E° = -0.76V. This is a "downhill" reaction, where the oxidizing agent has a higher E° than the reducing agent. Therefore, the reaction is spontaneous.

Carbon naturally occurs in two forms: diamond and graphite. Why do these two forms have very different properties?
kari74 [83]
The differences in the properties of diamond and graphite is as a result of how their particles are arranged in space. This space arrangement leads to distinct crystal structures for the two compounds. In diamond, the carbon atoms are arranged in tetrahedral shape while in graphite the carbon atoms arrayed in planes.
