The given chemical reaction is:

N_{2}+3Cl_{2}-->2NCl_{3}

ΔH^{0}_{reaction}=∑BE(reactants)-∑BE(products)

                 = {(941 kJ/mol) + (3 * 242 kJ/mol)} -[{2*(3*200 kJ/mol)}]

                     = 467 kJ/mol

Calculating the change in heat when 85.3 g chlorine reacts in the above reaction:

Moles of chlorine = 85.3 g Cl_{2}* \frac{1 mol Cl_{2}} {70.91 g Cl_{2}  }

                             = 1.20 mol Cl_{2}

Heat change when 1.20 mol chlorine reacts

                             = 1.20 mol * \frac{467kJ}{mol} =560.4 kJ

6. If 0.500 mol NaN3 react, what mass in grams of nitrogen will result?
lions [1.4K]

Answer:

21 g of N₂ are produced by the decomposition

Explanation:

The reaction is: 2 NaN3 → 2 Na + 3 N2

2 moles of sodium nitride decompose in order to produce 2 moles of Na and 3 moles of nitrogen gas.

According to stoichiometry, ratio is 2:3. Therefore we say,

2 moles of nitride can produce 3 moles of N₂

Then, 0.5 moles of NaN₃ will produce (0.5 . 3) / 2 = 0.75 moles of N₂

We convert the moles to mass, to find the answer

0.75 mol . 28 g / 1 mol = 21 g

faust18 [17]

Answer:

rest will do later mom is calling me plz understand promise will do it

Explanation:

  • Elements and compounds are similar in that they are both made of atoms and in some cases molecules.
  • Methods of Breaking Down Compounds
  • The only way to break down a compound is through a chemical change. Sometimes, energy is needed for a chemical change to happen. Two ways to add energy to break down a compound are to apply heat and to apply an electric current.

How many electrons are in the highest occupied energy level of a group 5A element?
seraphim [82]
As you know, an element'svalence electrons are simply theelectrons located on the outermost energy level, i.e. on thehighest occupied energy level. Therefore, you can say that anelement located in group 5A has 5 electrons on its highest occupied energy level. so the answer would be c.5
