Plants make food in their leaves. The leaves contain a green pigment (chlorophyll) which colors the leaves green. Chlorophyll makes sugar the plant can use (as plants are made of large chains of sugar molecules) from carbon dioxide, water, nutrients, and energy from sunlight. This process is called photosynthesis.

if an owl makes one pellet a day how many mice,voles,rats,or birds must it catch in one week ,month,or year
Leona [35]

Answer:

\large \boxed{\text{32 small animals/wk, 136/mo, and 1640/yr}}

Explanation:

The pellets from a barn owl often contain the remains of 4 or 5 small animals. Let's assume an average of 4.5 animals per day.

1. Animals per week

\text{Per week} =\dfrac{\text{1 pellet}}{\text{1 da}} \times \dfrac{\text{4.5 animals}}{\text{1 pellet }} \times \dfrac{\text{7 da}}{\text{1 wk}} = \textbf{32 animals/wk}

2. Animals per year

\text{Per year} = \dfrac{\text{32 animals}}{\text{1 year}} \times \dfrac{\text{52 wk}}{\text{1 yr}} =\textbf{1640 animals/yr}

3. Animals per month

\text{Per year} = \dfrac{\text{1640 animals}}{\text{1 year}} \times \dfrac{\text{1 yr wk}}{\text{12 mo}} = \textbf{136 animals/mo}\\\\\text{A barn owl eats $\large \boxed{\textbf{36 small animals/wk, 136/mo, and 1640/yr}}$}
